Blake gives up a leadoff bunt single, and then walks a batter, putting a man in scoring position with one out, but he then gets a pitchers' best friend-- a 6-4-3 double play. Time for the offense to wake up. One would assume Choate is nearing the wall (though we haven't exactly forced him to work very hard, and his pitch count is still very low).
Lumberjacks bring in their other mid-week starter, Jr RHP Bishop, who actually has superior stats, but against far weaker competition. He has had big time control issues, however. Patience.
Perrott leadoff single! That's a start. Now can Kirby lay down the bunt (he's failed at least twice over the weekend)?
Taylor successfully sacs Geoff to 2B with one out.
Perrott advances to 3B on wild pitch.
Byrd walked. Runners on 1B and 3B, one out. I'd have Byrd attempt to steal 2B here as opposing teams have run well against SFA, and it gets us out of the DP.
Stainback squeeze bunts scores Geoff!
Runner on 2B, two outs. Let's get that insurance run.
Stringer struck out. A night to forget for Christian, as he's left 4 guys in scoring position so far.
Good guys retake the lead 2-1 heading to the top of the eighth inning.
