That's a good question, I think Brennan may be offered a preferred walk-on. He was getting some FBS looks, but ESPN shows none offered.

Didnt Wilde promise McCarley that he wouldn't recruit anymore qb's this year? Or is this kid being looked at as an athlete and not a potential qb?

Scott has many redeeming traits for the position and flashes the ability to make plays, but is somewhat limited. Possesses average combination of size, speed and mobility. Will need to add size or improve quickness to be an upper tier candidate for the next level. Does a good job of getting rid of the football and not trying to do too much when the play breaks down. Keeps his eyes down the field and maintains a readiness to throw while under pressure. Body will need to fill out in order to absorb contact at the next level. Maintains a good throwing position with a balanced lower body. Good over the top release, can get the ball out in a timely fashion. Does not have great arm strength -- is all about touch and timing. Uses accuracy and anticipation to make up for inability to drive the ball down the field. Falls away from throws at times, does not utilize his lower body enough. Good accuracy, does a very good job of putting the ball where only his receiver can get it on the sidelines. Good understanding of ball placement based on defender leverage. Loses some accuracy when forced out of rhythm. Shotgun only QB that would need to develop under center ball handling. Does a good job of handling poor snaps. Pats the ball occasionally before throws. More of a dropback quarterback that plays in a spread, does run some zone read. Undersized QB that relies on accuracy. He is likely a candidate for non-BCS level or play or FCS level.

His avg speed won't get it done at DB. We've converted several QB's to other positions and this won't be one. I think we may see David Washington move, he's is too athletic to waste sitting on the sideline. He should be a strong number 2 QB next spring, I'm very high on him.

What is the source on this? I checked the ESPN Recruiting Nation web site and there is no mention of him on the ODU page and his page does not show any interest or commitment for ODU. I looked at both 2013 and 2014. What's the story?

Well duh. I suppose if I had stopped to read the first post a little more carefully, I wouldn't have asked this question. With no other evidence to the contrary, I would be suprised if he is anything other than a walk-on hoping to earn a scholarship.
