You misunderstand the word I used then.

You are being blindly loyal to a conference that is collapsing around you. I respect your loyalty and it is admirable, but the best thing for your school at this point would be to jump ship. You could try to rebuild the SBC, but it would just have to start over after the next realignment raid.

Believing that with time and loyalty, the SBC can be one of the best Mid-Major conferences is silly. Other conferences have better TV deals, better capital, and (most of the time) better teams. Blind loyalty is not what is best for your school.

The SBC is the youngest of all FBS football conferences. We are hearing the same arguments that C-USA fans heard in their first 10 years of play.

Rome was once a mighty Empire, and America was owned by savages. Things change my friend, things always change.

And you can hope and pray until you're blue in the face.

But that won't change anything. Schools are doing what is in their best interests. They're not going to take a very high-risk gamble and lose their chance to advance for the hope that they'll raise their current conference up.

I'm sure there were Romans who argued for peace with Carthage. They were swept aside once the Legions secured victory.

All things change.

Yes. I assume your deleting of my posts that disagree with you, but are still within the rules of the forum is comparable to the dictator of a communist country.

Yes comrad. 05-mafia

You should also assume that it is never smart to challenge a tyranical government...such as a dictator of a communist country. :youmoron:

btw: I've spoke in front of classes about the dictatorships of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Bloc. If you want to continue to make humerous villian jokes about dirtbags of humanity's past, I'll win.

Some...others like Stalin, Mao, the two Kims, Ho Chi Min, etc, die old and happy men...loved by those they once ruled.

I'm pretty sly, I think I can manage. I'm a pretty popular dictator around these parts. 02-13-banana

I suppose when you maintain such a naive point of view, it's easy to make yourself believe things like that.

Back to the topic at hand:

TLDR: Sun Belt, bad. Anywhere else, good.

My school is a part of this conference and I will continue to post here, even after WKU has departed. I like this conference and hope it succeeds.

That being said, I want WKU to leave. The conference is in rough shape and will only get worse as it is raided by higher conferences. I would rather WKU make the rational, sensible choice to take an invite elsewhere, rather than take a huge gamble by staying in the conference.

The Sun Belt offers very little in basketball and our biggest rival has left the conference. For my school (and most others on this board), a conference invite to C-USA would be a very good thing.

RE: NO Bowl
And what if WKU doesn't leave the Sun Belt? Will you continue to sulk and proclaim that your Hilltoppers should leave? Will your tone change as the Belt improves and overtakes other non-P5 Conferences on the hirearchy?

You continue to complain about the placement of the youngest of all FBS leagues, regardless of the fact we have made HUGE strides in recent years and show no sign of slowing down.

C-USA took the Belt's weakest football programs because of their markets. Because of that we are still strong and viable. The Sun Belt has the ability to replace our departures and continue on.

So, since your program is still in the Belt, get on board or get out of the way. We don't need naysayers within our ranks, we have enough of those coming from outside the family.
