RE: Sun Belt Schools courting the MAC
I always heard that WKU's president loved the idea of the MAC because of it's perception about academics. I don't know where he gets that though. Kent State is kinda "academic", I suppose. If you like flaming socialistic scientists and goofy social workers.

Pretty simple reasons

1. You are in a state that they already have a member in
2. You are in a state with 5 FBS programs
3. Your market is far more LSU dominated
4. You are not well known nationally
5. It isnt a lock that Louisiana Tech would approve you.

Change a few of those around and you have the same reasons that ASU is not in. However, these five would be the reasons that you are hearing ASU's name ahead of your name right now in some of the small talk, none of which talk amounts to anything.

You made 5 points and only number 1 & 2 matter.

3. LSU dominates the whole state, just like the Hogs do in Arkansas.
4. Please tell me who has more nationally televised games in the Sun Belt?
5. La Tech will 100% back us, it is in their best interest politically. We backed them with a hostile take over attempt of LSUS. They owe us. Plus with 3 UL graduates on the ULS board they will be pressured to back us or their attempts at advancement will be blocked.
