The buck certainly doesn't stop with them. Hell, A&M sent Bill Byrne out of the country because he wanted the aggies to stay in the Big 12. Still, it is very telling when an AD says the kind of things this FSU AD publicly said.

I'm sure he knows all the ACC plans too.

"We've had conversations at the senior level about what we should consider," Spetman said.

Yeah, but don't the seniors graduate this year? What kind of commitment will they have to university then? And what about the next year's seniors? I don't think this Spetman guy has found the right group of people for consideration...

Very true.

Byrne was not a fan of leaving the Big 12. As Nebraska's AD, at the time he was one of the original architects of the conference and he hated NU leaving and he didn't want A&M to follow.

It didn't directly get him fired but it definitely hastened his retirement.

These decisions are definitely in the realms of Presidents and BORs, not the AD.

If the ACC offered your school an invitation to join for the 2013 season onward, assuming of course there was no holdup with the GoR and there wouldn't be any other conference movement whatsoever for the next 5-10 years, would you guys want to stay in the Big 12?

Any other WVU fans want to answer? Thanks bit for your insight.

I'm probably the minority view in WVU's fanbase. But you're welcome anyway...

Nice sense of humor. Took me a minute to catch on. I thought you were being serious about it not being senior level managemnt at the University

I agree....that was pretty well documented.

If Delany is as smart as he seems to be he will get FSU into the Big 10 along with Miami. That would be an expansion home run.

I think Miami could definitely fit in as #20. The only way I would see Clemson get in ahead of them is if UNC demanded Clemson instead in order for UNC to sign on.

You can't invalidate what I said so you try to attack to me personally.

"Ooh he is a t-shirt fan so those facts he just pointed out are somehow invalid!"

You've got to grow a thicker skin and quit these little diatribes every time someone fails to praise mighty Texas Tech to your satisfaction.

The facts is, FSU doesn't give a crap about going to Lubbock and playing the Red Raiders.

I'm big enough to admit that FSU doesn't want to join the SEC to play A&M at all. They want to join to play Florida, Georgia, Auburn and Bama. And I'm perfectly OK with that and not getting my panties in a wad over it.

Quit your crying, your ad hominem attacks and grow the f%$# up already.

Like I said, I appreciate the friendships I have with true Aggie grads. T-shirt aggie fans embarrass them and the University they graduated from.

I have thick skin and listen to all Tech insults but I won't tolerate a T-Shirt fan telling me that my school is inferior to other schools in the state of Texas. FSU fans would be welcomed in Lubbock and treated with respect, much like the West Virginia fans that I visited with this past season.

Despite the score, West Virginia fans enjoyed our hospitality and welcoming West Texas friendliness. The same would happen with Florida St if they somehow join our conference.

Uh huh

You are sitting here arguing with me because I said the obvious truth that B12 games outside OU and UT are not a selling point to FSU. Because to you, the obvious truth that FSU doesn't care about games with Tech or Baylor or Kansas or ISU or TCU is somehow a direct insult to Tech.

Although I do note you haven't protested at all when a horn fan tells you that Tech doesn't matter at all.

Interesting.

Yeah losing 16 straight times to Tech and the fact that we overtake your stadium when we play you, will do that to you.

Kliff and the 20K or so Tech fans that will invade Ford Stadium can't wait to kick off the 2013 season in Dallas. ESPN moved the game to Friday Aug 30th.

It is cute that you get all torqued up like this but you can stop pretending that Texas Tech matters.

My wife dragged me into a gift shop in Gruene last Fall...I saw some Tech drink coasters on clearance there...so that proves they are relevant.

Did you guys have a nice lunch at the Gristmill Restaurant?

Love sitting out on the deck overlooking the ravine and the Guadalupe...one of my favorite places.

I typically skip the Gristmill (unless tourist friends and family want to see it).. The food is overpriced and not all that good.

Similarly, I skip the Salt Lick for the same reasons. In the end, you are paying for the atmosphere and location.

Gristmill--->great deck
Salt Lick--->great food

More than likely the UT fan is a T-shirt fan who has no say in what UT does. UT admins appreciate our relationship and value our brand despite us telling them NO twice on LHN games. UT is working with Tech to be the next AAU school in this state. I hate losing to UT but I appreciate the relationship. Texas A&M only cares about A&M and they view Tech and UH as a threat. If they didn't, Brazos county would have voted to have better/more educated students in this state.

You have no say in what A&M does and were not admitted/attend the University that you think is so better than the rest of the state. A&M accepted me but I chose Tech because of its location from Houston. I didn't want to be brainwashed at fish camp and I wanted to get as far away from Houston as possible.

ESPN thinks we are good enough to move to the SMU game to Friday and the TCU game to Thursday. ESPN/ABC would love a top 25 game between FSU and Tech.

New Braunfels is a special place. My wife and I are considering living in that area in the future.
