I read what Noland is saying but I have heard that before at other universities. Fact is football would make ETSU sponsoring 8 men's sports. Most ASUN and SOCON universities only sponsor 7 (so do several SEC schools). I just do not think ETSU is in a financial position to pull that off - yet.
However it does make sense to drop tennis (non-revenue, 7-8 international students, $60K tuition revenue) and add lacrosse (keep the same operating budget, revenue sport, 40-55 American students - $500K+ in added tuition revenue).
