Heard on way in tonight. Changing course and refusing to recognize UT as west champ if they have the best record.

My understanding is that the Rockets are banned from POST season play. How can that affect regular season play?

On the radio they described it as the league piling on.

I am staring to agree with those who say we should leave the MAC.

Well, it doesn't matter now. But why wait until NOW to say this? If they would have said it at the very beginning, that'd be one thing. But to wait until now, when UT had (and still has a SLIM chance) a legitimate shot to win the West, is just a slap in the face.

Toledo is the MAC powerhouse.

That really blows. Initially, I thought the conference was behind UT regarding the NCAA's decision on the post season ban. Now they pull this? It is one small thing they could do to stand up for a conference member. I just can't express how disgusting I find this. My respect for the MAC just dropped quite a few notches.

Over the next couple of season's, MBB and FB will make big moves up.

I have refused, as many around the country, to recognize the MAC as a conference for years.......

So would the video guy still have counted it as a "Mac Championship" on next season's Bball recruiting tape?

Speaking of leaving this Great Conference...U Cinn is now in a pickle...Listening to the Big One-WLW and they were talking about where do they go now? Big East look like a train wreck if the Big 7 Catholic schools have their way... They mentioned that the MAC was definitely not a choice but then what, ACC, Big 12 or stay put?
We are not the only place feeling left out...not sure all of the fans dreams are even possible to move on to bigger and better conference...just saying UC with their big city location and superior resources is searching for an answer as well.

I believe they are trying to make the move to the ACC.

I believe the new Non Catholic Big East will be a solid conference once Rutgers leaves and Navy joins. It would be a great conference for Toledo to be in with some very solid football and basketball programs that are attractive to football bowl and basketball tournament committees.

If, and when, Toledo leaves the MAC, the MAC could be regulated down to FCS. Toledo IS that important to the MAC. That's why I believe the MAC tries to make Toledo look less attractive to other conferences.

Cincy applied when Louisville did, but were turned down.

Doubt it would ever happen, but I'd go with Cincy to a new conference...maybe if UT would link arm-in-arm with a couple others from the MAC (NIU? Ohio?) and go as a package to something else?

Between the extreme lack of national respect that our womens bball program has gotten EVEN AFTER WINNING the WNIT just because we're in the MAC, and this latest slam from our own conference that, even if we beat enough MAC schools, our men's team wouldn't be recognized as Division Champs, I am on board with leaving...
