PSU, ND and UMD are not leaving their "gravy trains"! You are foolish to think so. The split crew needs 6 teams to have a new confernce and 9 to keep the BCS status. We have 7 teams that will go already. Teams that will split or :

UL
UC
USF
WVU
Pitt
UConn
Memphis

I am not sure about Cuse and Rutgers. But Marshall, ECU and UCF would jump at the chance to take their place.

Wilke1, no schools can really expect to remain independent. I know that most people will state that Notre Dame, Army, and Navy are independent.

I will say that Notre Dame is "almost" independent. ND negotiates for bowl spots with the Big East. ND and the Big East use each other for these purposes.

Navy and Army? I'll give you those. As storied as their programs are, they are truly non-traditional.

My point is that Syracuse and Rutgers will not go independent. They will follow Connecticut, West Virginia, Cincinnati and the rest to form a new Big East conference. Notre Dame will still be part of the scene to help the Big East negotiate and stay a step ahead of the remaining non-BCS conferences.

If ND loses their TV football contract, they will be forced to go with 1A football schools or B10. But it will take that.

What I would like to know is where is this stuff coming from about SU, may not come? That is a bunch of baloney, to whoever started that. The old SU AD said that if the BE did not split, he would retire. And he did. So I would like to know where this stuff started from. It is totally baseless.
BTW: ECU,Marshall, and UCF will not replace the Syracuse name.

I am glad to hear Cuse will move. I hope we split and add Memphis to get 9. I would like to see 12 and a playoff but that just me. I like the ring of:

This the Wilkie quote you support.

Well, completely besides the point that he was joking around, how exactly did I show that I "support" that quote. Did I come out in favor of it in the media? Or even respond to it earlier? Nope. Once again, I smack you up and down the field in the logic department. I hope you aren't this stupid at work.

I almost feel sorry for you. It's like an adult debating a 12 year old. It's not even a challenge to prove you wrong everytime you post.

Wilkie I am glad you have such great contacts with Syracuse,Pitt and Rutgers and Uconn. You know how the presidents of these great schools are thinking. You know for sure they want a split. Is the form of your communication from the rivals board?is telepathic?Although my contacts are typically down one level I know a number of these Presidents and their conversations don't reflect your views.Maybe there is some static confusing these transmissions.

How slow are you? Fans do not have the same exact opinion just because they support the same school. There are times I agree with Wilkie and plenty of times I don't. Plus its pretty clear to me that many times he posts just to get you going & it works quite well. How hard is this to understand really? 01-wingedeagle

Exactly, I hardly ever agree with Army52Mike or Wilke on issues like a 12 School All Sports Big East conference.

But we discuss our different views like adults! 04-rock

We do not make up our answers, we know the difference between ptoven fact and personal opinion. I like 12 teams and he likes 9. We do not not slam each other! We just agree to disagree! 03-idea

If such a new conference comes about, I think "EAC" (Eastern Athletic Conference) would be the best and most logical name. Perhaps most important is that the name is not restrictive in terms of geography or numbers. How about this alignment?

The current (8) football members, plus Memphis, ECU and Marshall (making eleven full members), plus Notre Dame/Army/Navy jointly sharing the 12th spot as partial members? This would have considerable media appeal. Perhaps we could get TigerShark2 into a straight jacket before he slits his wrists.

It would work but would the NCAA allow a playoff game? Probably not since we would be similar to the Big 10.

So you think the folks in Louisville don't like catholics huh, well let me set you straight...
I coached basketball for St. Anthony, Our Lady, St Cecilia, St Ann and St Mathias and I'm not catholic. I did however send two of my children through catholic school.
There is absolutely no catholic bias in Louisville. As a matter of fact there isn't a non-catholic bias either.
As for the number of catholics in Louisville, I suggest you check out the STX-Trinity match-up every fall. Nearly 40,000 show up every season to watch these two catholic schools square off making it the biggest high school football rivalry in the nation.

No doubt, trading DePaul for 3rd-Ranked Memphis, which not only plays Division 1A football but brings a bowl game, would be the height of stupidity. Tigershark, we all know your desire to protect Notre Dame's parasitic relationship with the BE, but making ridiculous statements doesn't help your cause.

Gray the greatest parasites are the deficient group(location, market place, sports ,academics, ncaa compliance) of cusa south schools who want to live off the bcs funds tv revenue of the BE football members and try to subsitute the liberty bowl( a non bcs bowl)for 2 ND bowls with the BE and ND games during the season.(ND is not joining a situation in which they do not have political allies.)

You mean being allied with schools that are run by Priests that will always vote for you! lmfao lmfao lmfao
