The original B'ham TD Club met in the old Thomas jefferson -aka Colony - and then later moved to other locations on the southside and then downtown (Summit Club). My dad bought memberships for himself, my brother and myself to give us something to do together each week that involved football, had a more open membership and met at night over a meal. Doug Layton was one of the founders of the club. Football coaches were the usual speakers but occasionally other figures from sports had the honors.

The only current info was for the Over the Mountain TD Club which has annual dues of $275 and can be reached by contacting Barry Faulkner @ 1605 Wingfield Dr @ B'ham,AL 35242 in case any of you is interested. You must be recommended by a member to apply.

Holy ****, like 8 people have posted that the answer is extremely obvious via google. It's not. It's not like I've been ignoring all the douchey lmgtfy links.

The first link is to "over the mountain touchdown club". Is this the same thing? I don't know. No one here will explain that. If everything were referencing the this as the only touchdown club in birmingham, I'd assume it was the same thing.

Then the next few sites are non-profit and business directories reference something that's named the birmingham touchdown club, but with no real information about it.

Using this info, I've reached the following conclusions: There used to be something called the birmingham touchdown club. There is something called the over the mountain touchdown club in birmingham. The two may or may not be the same thing. Birmingham touchdown club may no longer exist, but there's no information to confirm that, only a lack of info.

You guys know that Google search results are customized for each person? So what's the top result for you might not show up for other people?

I'm beginning to think all these people screaming "google it" don't really know the answer and are doing that as a defense mechanism about it. Real helpful guys.

Then, just possibly, they disbanded in 2008 ?

You're right. We don't know the answer. But we are trying to help our senior friend to learn to fend for himself and find the answers himself.

If I knew, I'd have told him. I linked google becaust that's what I do when I'm looking for something. It may not get me there, but often it gives me a better idea where to look.

If its (BTDC) latter day incarnation is the "Over the Mountain TD Club", it was just mentioned as awarding its "Bobby Bowden Coach of the Year Award" to Nick Saban. SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!

They also found a "home" for the Bobby Bowden statue on the campus at Samford after the BJCC & the AL SHOF turned it down.
