Cincy is doing what is best for them but it certainly isn't helping the long term stability of the Big East. It's going to be hard for them to get a sizable tv contract if their top teams are so publicly and actively trying to get into a different league.

Cincy must really want nothing to do with the nBE. Nothing.

Cincinnati pandering to the ACC by sending university presidents Christmas cards and a video of their stadium renovation project.

If only one spot becomes available in the ACC, I wonder if Cinci would get the nod over UCONN.

I agree, but it can't sit well with their current conference leaders.

NBE is essentially a demotion back to the original CUSA.

Of course they want out ASAP.

an upgraded stadium is not going to resonate with the ACC presidents..

now a new home for the business school and a new cutting edge bio research lab, that might pique the interest.

Now that we all see what the $$ situation is going to be in the nBE that may not be the case anymore.

Don't see Temple mentioned anywhere in these articles, but I do see USF.

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball...grade-talk

"UConn and USF also were considered by the ACC in the days after losing Maryland."

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball...each-other

"The ACC is also in talks with South Florida and Cincinnati, according to the source, and could add "pretty quickly." Factors on the decision include geography and television market viability, on-field performance and academic success."

http://wusfnews.wusf.usf.edu/post/usf-at...crosshairs

"USF is one of four Big East schools talking with ACC officials about replacing Maryland,"

FWIW, in addition to their $1.1B endowment, UC has just raised another $1B through private funds. They garner $500M a year in research and last year launched a partnership with GE Aviation to start a research institute studing jet engines. I am sure that was all part of the DVD Santa Ono sent.
