MAC basketball coaching hotseat
Surely opening a can of worms here, but thought I'd share since it's nice to read a somewhat objective opinion on these kinds of things:

Thanks for sharing BP. Kinda depressing to think that last week we lost to the two coaches in the MAC most likely to be fired.

Orr could be fired....or retained considering his team could finish as high as a #4 seed depending on the next 4 games.

I don't think they will fire him if he gets a #4 or 5 seed in Cleveland. Maybe I'm wrong...I suppose it depends on his contract situation.

Flip a coin. Depends on how they finish.

Their fan base is done with him...but it likely depends on his contract length.

They've already played Akron twice. Assuming a loss to Ohio...they COULD finish out 3-1 and go 8-8 in conference. That would be good enough for a #4 seed I believe.

If they fold a blow a couple of those games (Miami, at kent, and Buffalo), it could be the nail in the coffin.

Two months ago I was convinced he would be done after this year.

update...I looked up his contract.

Next season would be his last. So yeah, Orr has a lot riding on how they finish and perform in Cleveland.

That means BG will need to renew his contract after this year if they are going to keep him.

I would think so. He's one of the lowest paid coaches as well. So I suppose keeping him in his walk year wouldn't be out of the question depending on BGSU's financial situation.

(although the buyout can't be very much)

his son is on the team as well. I wonder how many guys would bolt if they canned him????
