My guess is that Garber and Williams play for sure. Even with Garber we probably have the shortest team in the MAC. Williams can be a dynamic player who has a good chance to get minutes. Lauf's playing might depend on his outside shooting.

Lauf will have a chance to earn time as a defender. that is what makes him a real nice prospect. yes, he's a good athlete, he can shoot, but the fact that he can move laterally and be physical gives him an edge as a wing defender.

I expect Justin Drummond to be the key guy next year along with Pearson. Drummond has been the best player on the floor in practices many times this year. The team will need for Garber to play since we want to have a backup big man who can score when Boothe gets in foul trouble. The wildcard will be Weatherspoon. He was as highly thought of as his teammate Trey Burke out of high school. If Coach K can get him to use his ability and keep him under control, he will be a Dennis Rodman type on the boards.

Yikes. He's going to fight teammates for rebounds and celebrate every one he gets like he just won the NbA chmpionship? 03-wink

If Garber is ready to contribute at the college level, so be it... I would just hate to see a couple of the freshman languish on the bench when Coach K has already reitterated that he would like to go 9-10 deep... With the 3 transfers and Aubrey Williams into the mix, finding PT for everybody would create a dilemma for the staff... I also think Richard Wonnel does an admirable job as a backup to Booth... Next years version of Rocket basketball will be scary good...

Finding PT for 12 guys would FINALLY be a great problem to have......I would agree, Wonnel does an admirable job as a backup, but he's not a threat to score unless its for a layup. There's gonna be a lot to choose from next year to backup Booth......Lets face it, this year, there's only 6 guys that are a legitimate threat to score from outside 5 feet.

Agreed, someone that big by default should have 6 "bunny" points per game. With our increased bigs in the rotation next year, Wonnell will be a practice player. Its nice he gets a few rebounds and plays solid D, but anytime he's in the game it's 4 on 5.

Hey now, you can't discredit his 6 point offensive explosion last night. 03-wink

RE: Zach Garber
I don't see any way that Garber red-shirts. Look at other MAC rosters and see how many 6-8+ players other schools have. Most schools have at least five or six including some 6-10/6-11 types. With Garber we have TWO on scholarship. How about Boothe and Garber in the same lineup with Wonnell backing them up? Then bring in another big in the 2014 class.

Possible starting lineup:
PG Brown, Lemons
2G Pearson, J. Williams, Lauf
WF Drummond or Smith, Aparicio
PF Holliday or Weatherspoon, A. Williams
C Boothe, Garber, Wonnell

RE: Zach Garber
Zach was at Saturdays game I know some were questioning his height I saw him up close he is at least 6' 9" if not 6'10".

I did see Lauf play earlier this year I think he could red-shirt he is definitely a division one athlete but I think a year of practice will help.

It is rare to see have a team have 13 scholarship players where one does not red-shirt. And there is no other real candidate to red-shirt barring injury
