This type back and forth is common here in Texas. Baylor and Texas Tech absolutely despise A&M. Hell, most of the state despises A&M. They are a cult who brainwash( step foot on their campus or go to a football game and watch their stupid traditions) their students and expect the rest of the state to bow down to them. Instead of bowing down to them, we laugh at them.

2) I just said that it was a brilliant idea. Not exactly "demonizing" it. They used their leverage, we used ours. Ours worked, theirs didn't.

3) Yes, please let's all listen to a school that covered up the murder of a basketball player by his fellow teammate lecture us about the ethics of sportsmanship

1- You can't act like everyone else was going to let it happen either

2- You sure like the "they tried to cheat NCAA rules" narrative and frequently spin it.

3- Baylor had no role in it other than firing the former coach who covered up the fact he paid tuition for the deceased "walk on" when his own assistants turned him in. Bliss tried to get teammates to say he was selling fldrugs to pay the tuition and his assistant blew the whistle. Nobody covered up the murder to my knowledge.

3b- Making light of a tragedy is wrong. I wouldn't stand for bonfire tragedy smack against A&M and I won't stand for this crap. Anyone crossing that kind of line with any fanbase is very likely to get at least a temporary ban. Some things should be off limits due to common decency.

RE: Washington Post: Really bad news for UConn and Cincy
-Baylor is helpless and doesn't control its own destiny. Maybe pretending you we're fighting against UT behind the scenes makes you feel better, but you weren't.

-It would have been cheating, just a brand new form of cheating that hadn't been recognized by the NCAA yet. It really was just a new form of having a booster violate the rules on a schools behalf but it was still just as much a violation of the rules.

-You can call it a tragedy all you like but it was not an accident. Your head coach illegally paid players, ignored wide spread drug use, told players to lie to investigators during a murder investigation. The point is that after one of the worst scandals in college athletic history, you have no right to lecture anyone else about ethics.

EDITED TO ADD THE FOLLOWING:
But Nbe invitees (90% of Nbe) should be happy...

The ACC will not be plundered. If the conf move it won't happen all at once. The ACC will reload as they are raided, and the NBE will do the same thing. In the end the NBE may look alot like the current CUSA and tallgrass will be happy to call it home.

This is the last post on this for me.

1- The LHN was going to be roped in by the Big 12 and/or the NCAA. Your potshots at Baylor are irrelevant to that discussion.

2- It wasn't going to happen. As soon as the first deal news would break the rules it's contractually obligated to obey would slap it down.

3- Baylor was guilty of failing to monitor Dave Bliss and the foolish ad at the time was to blame. The incompetent AD resigns as a result, BU self sanctions, and moves on and faced some of the tougher sanctions the NCAA has handed down recently.

BU pays for it and moves on. The scandal was horrible due to the fact a guy got killed in a tragic manner. In no way was anyone at BU other than Bliss and a couple of his staffers complicit in any of it. Can't say the same for the Slocum and Sherrill aggie program which frequently shows up on most corrupt lists like this one:

RE: Washington Post: Really bad news for UConn and Cincy
1) Not the point. A&M, OU and Mizzou all spoke out publicly against it while the rest of the Big 12 just prayed they didn't fall victim to their lack of desirability by other power conferences.

2) Maybe so. We were in a position where we didn't have to trust that things would just work out and that UT will never try anything like this ever again. You do. Have fun with that.

3) No matter how hard you want it to be otherwise, nothing A&M has EVER done is as bad as the Bliss scandal. You have no high horse to preach from after that.

UC & UConn in trouble to a state of Texas pissing match. I love when threads go on too long. You have no idea what the O.P. was about after page 4 usually.
