WBB Attendance
The Lady Rockets are currently 26th in the nation in attendance, averaging just a hair under 4,000 per game. With a big # today, say 5,000+, they could jump all the way up to 21st.

5,712 today. Average is now up to 4,143. That would put us in 21st.

Hey all since I am down here and cant attend games, I was curious. How well bought up are the luxury suites? I saw pictures and they look nice. Is the new Grogan room pretty nice?

Grogan Room is pretty nice although the food is nothing special and it ain't cheap. I think the boxes are sold out- I noted that one appeared to be dark today but that doesn't mean its not sold. Crowds like today's do nothing to hurt the bottom line.

Well the Rockets did indeed move up to 21st in the country in average attendance this week.

A couple more 5000+ attendance games and they will be in the top 20.

Great news. I remember in the Fennelly's heyday the ratings got into the low 30s or maybe even high 20s but this is NEW untested territory.

As much attention as the coach from Rutgers gets, all the wins and Final Four appearances, Rutgers draws less than 2,200 a game......03-puke

And that's an elite program????????????????????01-wingedeagle

They aren't elite any more and the coach, C. Vivian Stringer, could be gone after this year. They have struggled since making the Final Four (the infamous Don Imus year) and won't make the NCAA Tournament this year unless they win the Big East Tournament (which won't happen).

Rutgers women used to draw over 5,000 a game. Next to the five straight years of double digit losses, the drop in attendance is the second biggest reason Stringer's on the hot seat. For her to get paid as much as she does (total compensation over $1 million a year), you can't lose 13 games a season and have the gate revenue drop by 60% in five years.

Rutgers still has Cincinnati and Pittsburgh remaining on their schedule, so Stringer will win her 900th game. After the season ends, her future is up in the air. The rumors have been swirling in New Jersey.
