Welp........I dont think anybody in the nBE cares about a team coming from the MWC anymore and so that's a moot point. But taking TV media deals out of it and looking at SOS and a decent shot at making the Access Bowl that will be worth at least $20 million a year to the represented conference in any given year might be enough of a reason, for a USM, Tulsa, Marshall to come play with some old friends if given the opportunity.
I crunched some numbers and based on everyone's final standings this year according to Realtimerpi.com the average final ranking of "new Big East" teams in 2014 is 78.5 while the average final ranking of MWC teams in 2014 is 70. Comparatively, the ACC in 2014 with this year's teams finished with an average of 56.57 and the SEC finished with an average of 40. This year the Big East finished with an average of 56.74 while the MWC finished with an average of 80.6.. You have to consider the fact that the Big East is losing 4 of its top 5 teams and replacing them with CUSA bottom feeders while the MWC it taking the WAC's two best programs. Quite simply, the MWC is on the way up while the "new Big East" is on the way down with each conference's additions.
My point is that a team has a better shot of making the access bowl and thus winning the payday in the MWC than the "new Big East" simply because the teams are better. That's why Boise and SDSU elected to stay where they are, and that's why the "new Big East" doesn't have a lot of options in expansion.

RE: New McMurphy Tweet
wow did you see this from McMurphy to a question:
This was NBC's best offer. If ESPN matches, stays w/ESPN RT @fins2ryt: If ESPN matches is Big East locked in w/ them, or can NBC counter?

NBC Sports Network offers Big East $20M-$23M per year; $2M per team/year. ESPN has 1 week to match to retain rights

Basic math, Sir Jack@ss.
C-USA currently pays each team about $1.5mm/year with its TV deal.
Even after the raping of the Big East by ESPN and FOX over the past 2 years, and the raiding of the Big East by ACC, Big XII, and B!G....this paltry $20mm contract is STILL a better deal than C-USA. The per team pay should be about $2,060,667 for the all sports teams. And it could increase a bit more; maybe up to $2.5mm.
This does NOT include the exit fees UL, ND, RU, C-7 will be paying AFTER they meet the 27 month departure notice. But that will be negotiated with Aresco and the lawyers.
Secondly, the best of the C-USA schools are moving over to the BEC. A counter argument can be made for Tulane but the competition in the nBE is better than La Tech, NTSU, UTSA, ODU, etc.
Actually the BEST of CUSA aren't headed to the nBE. The 2 teams who combine for more titles than the ones leaving, USM and Tulsa, aren't going.

Wow C-USA doesn't even make 1.5 million per year per school. It was at 1.17 million per school. No money added to the deal so it'll be down to like 1 million per school now.
