Maybe I'm getting hung up on symantics. To me there is a difference between an agreement and a settlement. A settlement implies legal action and that's what I'm arguing against. We have or are working towards an agreement with the Big East.

I'll give you that. If we're arguing the two sides of one coin, I apologize.

If you could get 15 mil from Rutgers and Louisville it will help the new schools pay almost 1/2 of their departing fees. or simply get 5 mil each for 3 years, and you make up some of the loss tv deal $$. 10 mil per year total would be a good kick up for everyone.

Rutgers is also suing because we never received a dime of exit fees from Syracuse, Pitt, WVU, & ND or entrance fees from Temple. In the original filing, Rutgers indicated there is a reason to believe the Big East never collected the $35 million exit fees.

Most of that money is in escrow and you wouldn't really see anything from Temple as their entry fee is $500K/year for 5 years of withholding of revenue. Temple hasn't even technically "paid" the first payment yet.

I love the way some say Louisville and Rutgers are to blame for the small contract. Did We forget Syracuse, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Boise, SDSU, Notre Dame, And the C7? All announced Before any Contract was reached.

There was legal action. A lawsuit was filed.

When and where was the lawsuit between Louisville and Big East? I've not heard of one.

Just charge an extra 50 cents a NJ cable subscriber per month for the B1G channel...problem solved.

That doesn't solve anything, Mark. All it does is avoid the problem altogether. Rutgers is owed money by The BEast, which they haven't gotten...

IMO The BEast owes Rutgers interest on the principle, as well as the principle itself...
