Coaches on the hot seat?
who's gone at the end of the season???

Benford? Maestri?

RE: Coaches on the hot seat?
I would imagine Jarvis is getting warmer. He is awful in post-season play and other than 2011 hasnt done much in regular season play either.

He did just get a new contract last year, so he may have another year or 2 to get it done. FAU has gone thru some cash lately that would make a buyout unadvisable.

Benford will, unfortunately, be around at UNT for probably 3 more years. No prior head coaching experience and we give him a five year contract. Dumb, dumb, and dumb!

RE: Coaches on the hot seat?
Coach Marlin is not yet on the hot seat, but he is on his "2nd chance." Most of the players he inherited have left the program, so the team is very young this season. They still have a few holes to fill but they have shown some positive signs. If they can get another big man and these kids can begin to mature, they may may be fine.

If not, it will be about 2-3 years before a new coach will be in order. I do think the contract extention was a bit premature.

Rumors are flying high that maestri is "retiring" after bein at Troy since 1982..

We need new blood and a fresh start for our new arena.

Anyone notice Troy plays MUCH better at home... We are 9-4 at home.

I told you earlier 8-4!! Exhibition games do not count lol. And it's called home court advantage for a reason. You should look it up sometime. USA is 9-3 at home. 03-drunk

SE Missouri State wasn't a home game. It was a tournament game in Chatanooga.

Benford? Maestri?

With FAU underperforming again, Jarvis?

What about the Cajuns' coach?

A few fans want Benford's scalp but not the AD or others in the administration. They recognize that players have not played hard etc. Fans don't admit that the players bear respnsibility for their lack of effort.

Why would we even consider a change, he is the best coach ever to not have a winning record at UL, just so unlucky. Like Al Bundy his luck is so bad that when it changes to good, that is the day we need to run him because all hell will follow.

Guy is only in his first year of the redo, let him prove he deserves the redo.

ULL has young talent. Elfrid Payton, Shawn Long, and Kasey Shepherd will be very good with some seasoning. The Cajuns will be fine if they can add another big man and some depth on the perimeter.

Brady made his seat a whole bunch cooler with our league performance this year. You'd find a line of ASU fans willing to axe our womens coach, but with the Women battling for a division title, he's safe for another year. He was in serious danger when we started 0-5.

ArkSt is prob the most physical team I'm seen play in the SBC. They literally beat ULM on Saturday.

RE: Coaches on the hot seat?
If our BB coach isn't finally canned at the end of this season (and contract) I think TXST fans will rise up and burn down......something. It has been nothing but one bad season after another since Davalos has been there (7 years). He makes nearly 40K more than our baseball coach who has never had a losing season in 13 yrs.

(as a note on salaries...our baseball coach gave up a cut of his salary so that his assts would get paid. Before the last contract (I think that was 2009) the assts were unpaid volunteers.
