The new league, yet to be formed, is expected to have 12-to-14 members. The most likely candidates to join the Catholic schools, sources have told ESPN, are Butler, Xavier, Creighton, Dayton, Saint Louis, Richmond and VCU.
Touche!
I think the issue is that the presidents either can't agree on who #12 should be or they think that their are more than 5 candidates they want to be associated with.

OK.
Quote:My thinking is Fox will acquire more than just the C7. They aleady have Pac 12 ball. Although thinking about it- not all that much they could go out and get.
That's the problem. The Big 10 comes up in a few years, and they'll be all over that. CUSA comes up in 2016
Quote:Part of that is why I'm surprised they didn't make a push more for the Aresco league. Sure, it's not good for football, but would be decent filler for hoops in the winter time. It's a 7-8 place conference.
I think Aresco put it out that he only wanted bids that would show Aresco League football on Saturdays on basic cable. So no Fox, who would be putting their football on FoxSports2 or FSN's.
I thought Fox would end up with the Aresco League too, because they spend money to build up new channels, unlike the pennypinchers at Comcast.
