Well the yes's have gradually outdistanced the 2nd place vote - last night it was 5-1 & now at 7-1

Had this poll gone the other way, there would be 3 spin off articles on it by now.

We need to keep it up. Our conference brothers have also stepped up to the plate. I am liking our new conference mates. (as well as some of the old guard)


I think we have blow the myth that there are only three UAB fans.......LOL

Probably just a matter of time before the bumps crash the party and start tearing it down out of spite. Someone ought to email the SNEWS and bring their attention to the poll results before that happens.

The comments section is pretty funny. Not even a fair fight really. Educated UAB fans / alumni having a "debate" with folks that probably didn't make it into High School.

Where was their outcry when JSU spent 63 million to expand to 24K? Where was the outcry when ASU built an on campus stadium? Now I am all for those two schools investing in their future but it shines a clear light on the way we are treated. These same people didn't bat an eye at ASU and JSU and are raising hell with us.

Troy spent $40 million on a basketball arena and no one cared.

I am enthused that Dr. Watts stated that one of his first priorities would be increasing attendance at all UAB athletic events.

"I'm a strong believer that actions speak louder than words," Watts said.

I also am impressed that Evan Belanger stepped forward and created the commentary and poll on Al.com.

I am not a member of that 8% who foolishly thinks that attendance should increase, first.

Finally, on the subject of last nights game against ECU, UAB shot 32% in the second half and had their pockets picked(ECU had 10 steals) ten times, poor second half shooting and failure to take care of the ball over the course of the game. Not good, and it resulted in a thirteen point loss. Once again, there is plenty of room for improvement.

I never said they were. That said polls like this regardless if you agree with it or not or ignore it or not are used as a gauge. I received an e-mail asking me to stir people up to vote so I assume someone improtant thought it was important enough to do that.
