2013 still possible for B7
All departure dates are still on the table, despite most reports neglecting discussion of a 2013 start date said Tulane president Cowen. Tweet reads that "Catholic 7 schools will leave in either 2013, 2014 or 2015. Negotiations are ongoing for their departure."

I not only think it's possible, I think it's by far the most likely outcome quite frankly.

didn't realize we were the Baptist 7 now btw :)

RE: 2013 still possible for B7
I'd say for 2013 to happen, we'd have to hear something in the next 3 weeks or so. to me kind of a deadline is 2/28.

The Katz story that we picked upon for the 10 vs 12 issue-
The Wildcats have traditionally played Temple in the Big Five as a nonconference game. Unless the seven somehow leave early next season, the two teams will play a conference game or two against each other. But Wright said he's not sure, so the schedule will still be an unknown in February -- whereas in years past it would have been done already. Villanova knows who its six other conference members will be, but the seven will likely bump to 10 whenever it forms a new league.

think about it- if Wright's saying he's not sure- it means 2013 is a very real option on the table.

Just replace it with the protestant 7 and get some better teams in there! SMU, TCU, Duke, Marshall

i dont think they will go this year. It would create a few problems with some olympic sports in terms of membership for the c7, the nBE and those leaving for the ACC and B1G. IMO its will be 2014 , so that everyone thats leaving can go at the same time (except for cuse and pitt of course) and tulane, ecu and team "x" come in

you would kind of think so, but there's at least a bit of smoke. I think we'll know one way or the other really quickly.

Sure seems like it would be tough for everything to fall together that quickly--but the fact that the contract negotiations continue to drag on leads me to believe this may indeed be part of the delay in reaching a deal.
