CCHA showdown in K-zoo this weekend
Miami picked up 6 points this weekend, Western only 4 so Miami moved one point ahead of the Broncos and into first place. Western hosts Miami twice this weekend, if either team would sweep they could take a commanding lead for the final CCHA regualar season championship with only 6 games to go after the weekend.

Gonna be tight, that's for sure. Wish it was in Oxford, that would be a crazy atmosphere at Goggin, though I'm positive WMU will bring a rowdy crowd.

Unfortunately, no. Miami now gets almost every home game televised somewhere, but road games only occasionally. Western gets a few games a year on Comcast or FoxSportDetroit. The way WM has played the last few years, I think they should be able to get some sort of television package as we enter the National Conference next year. Traditionally Michigan and MSU dominate the TV schedule in Michigan.

If you have a subscription to Miami All-Access online, it's available, but I don't think it's on otherwise.

Big weekend coming up. I'd be happy if Miami can get out with a split!

I'm guessing Miami will just play some solid hockey instead of desperately gooning it up like Ferris Bueller State.

Yes, but you will see some severe checking from Miami!

RE: CCHA showdown in K-zoo this weekend
I know our new hockey league will be pretty strong, but it really pains me to see the B10 schools break off as I so enjoyed kicking Michigan, Ohio State and Michigan State's @ss in hockey. (and beating league rival Notre Dame wasn't too shabby, either). I especially enjoyed watching when Miami was playing a B10 team like OSU on the B10 network and listen to the B10 "homer" announcers talk about how huge it'd be for OSU to be able to play, (much less beat) a national power like Miami. Man, it was great fun!

Web Streaming is available tonight and tomorrow via both the Western Michigan and Miami websites (both Neulion)

https://www.nmnathletics.com/mediaPortal...M_ID=26100

or

https://www.nmnathletics.com/PremiumVide...EM_ID=4600

$8.95

Western sweep puts them in command to win CCHA regular season; Miami sweep puts them in command and also puts them on path to earn #1 PWR Ranking to put them in best seed for NCAA Tourney. Would like to see both WMU and Miami in the Frozen Four.

Western ranked #6, Miami #3. Western has only lost one home game all year.

Good analysis, hopefully Miami will have the latter. Number one seed would be great of course, especially if we get to go to the Toledo regional as opposed to New Hampshire. I imagine that WMU would be excited if they were slated to go to Grand Rapids.

Broncos score early in the first five minutes. 1 - 0 WMU 1st period.

Edit: WMU leads 1 - 0 at the end of one.

Broncos retake first place with a 2-0 shutout win. Miami had 32 shots on goal, so Western's goalie earned that shutout. Miami and Western came in first and third in the nation in goals against average, so we should not expect much scoring saturday night either. Another big game tomorrow.

RE: CCHA showdown in K-zoo this weekend
We can hope so, but winning at WMU is tough, just look at last night. Still, we play our game, and good things will come. We can take the lead if we win obviously, but an OT win will tie it up.
