imo the 12th spot comes down to those 2 and richmond. i know its not the popular choice but i prefer richmond

I'm moving into the camp of renting UConn and Cinci for a few years until we know for sure. Everyone wants Butler, Xavier, Creighton. Add UConn and Cinci for a couple years and when they leave the choice will be obvious. In the meantime we get the Big East name, reestablish the conference as the Big East and a prominent basketball conference. The narrative would be the reemergence of the big east without football dregs.

We got into it over my statement that X should want UD over VCU, because UD is their whipping boy and VCU isn't.

My point is that XU wants to be in a Conference full of good teams, not one comprised of a bunch of teams they can "bitchslap." The thinking on the part of XU fans is that we will rise to that occasion.
When XU was getting its program off the ground floor in the Bob Staak, Pete Gillen, and Skip Prosser years, the fans hated the plethora of crappy teams that were scheduled in the non-conference schedule. When Matta and Miller came on the scene, they had a different approach --- get the best teams possible to come in or play us on the road and give the team a steady diet of challenges. They reasoned that it would serve them well in the Conference season and the NCAA Tourney (and they were right). Coach Mack has followed suit.

And then this is why it kept going, because Dayton is apparently Fordham.

No. It's because, in my opinion, Dayton isn't VCU!
