I just checked the weather for Pullman. Highs: For Friday 43, Saturday 37, Sunday 39. I also checked Washington State's facilities. Baseball stadium, totally outdoors. This is crazy. For Eastern to fly all the way out there to play a possible game (as Steve has said), what a total waste of money. They may as well have scheduled it for here in Ypsilanti. They also said there could be snow flurries. Please!
I agree scheduling, even down South can be a problem, but scheduling a Northern State at this time of year is just stupid.
You hit the nail on the head Ken. It is crazy. To waste all this money just to play MAYBE a couple games is retarded plain and simple. I'm sure there had to be SOMEONE they could've scheduled further south this time of year. Apparently this coaching staff does not know their geography very well.
I agree they should start the season in the middle of March. That would make it almost bearable. So what if it goes into June....nobody gives a **** about college baseball around here anyways so give the northern schools a chance at some better weather.
And by the way....it's snowing where they are right now.
I bet this statement has been said maybe hundreds of times:
" I'm sure there had to be SOMEONE they could've scheduled further south this time of year. Apparently this coaching staff does not know their geography very well.
"
I bet there are scores and scores of schools feel EXACTLY like you.
It would be nice if southern schools wouldn't play other southern schools in February but I'll be there are a lot of warm weather teams playing at other warm weather schools.
Here is today's MAC baseball schedule: LOT of games to be played in areas where weather can be a big issue?

Are all MAC schools dumb at scheduling or is it a case of having to make do with the best one can????
I have my ideas.
The weather is crappy across large parts of the lower Midwest, plains, east, etc. etc.
It is 34 degrees with light snow showers in Washington, D.C.
It should be in the mid-upper 40s based on historical averages.
