This is great news! I love Seattle and might just make a week out of it.

Couldn't work out a 1 and 1 since you play in the Georgia dome? Just another 1 and done.

Yep. So far only Air Force for 1 and 1. Rumor is we're talking to Georgia Tech for a 2 and 1.

$900K is probably better than a 1 for 1 or 2 for 1 right now.

That was with the previous AD though. Who knows how serious talks got?

Not sure how our revenue is shared with the Dome, but I assume selling tickets to a sold out Georgia Dome would probably net more than 900k.

Do you think you could sell it out playing Washington? I'm thinking a southern school would bring more interest.

That's true. For whatever reason I was thinking Oregon. It's been a long morning. I know Oregon isn't a southern team, but they are national. I think they'd sell out here.

Different AD but same Associate AD handling scheduling so who knows.

Yeah - but I don't think we sell it out for Washington (or Oregon). That would require marketing effort and communication out of the Athletic Department.

Sell out? I don't think there is a school outside of 500 miles of Atlanta that would sell out the dome. You could bring in Ohio State and its not selling out. 50k? Maybe. Sell out? Nah...

I think you're seriously not giving some of these national brands enough credit. There are football fans in Georgia that would come see an Oregon or an Ohio State just because they're in Atlanta. I remember going to the UGA vs. Boise State game there a couple years back and being extremely surprised by how well represented Boise was.

I've heard from USM fans that Boise travels extremely well for such far distances. How many people will the Dome hold?

Yes, but realize that was the Chick-Fila Kick Off game and it was a big statement game for Boise, thus the turnout.

If you caught the perfect storm of UGA and Tech being on the road and the majority of Florida/Tennessee/Alabama/Auburn/Clemson/LSU/FSU all being on the road or playing non-televised home games against less than road trip inspiring competition, than sure, but otherwise...

There are only 2 games that would sell out the Dome. Georgia and Georgia Tech. Period. Those are the only teams that would bring over 25k of their fans. Those are the only two teams that would cause over 1/3 of our 125k local alumni to get off their butts and come down to the Dome. There is your sellout. And really I amtempted tosay that maaaaaybe only Georgia Tech

I actually would put several bordering state SEC schools as having as good or better odds of causing a full sell out as Georgia Tech.

Really? Because it would have to a perfect storm. Huge amount of local fans and alumni + 10k traveling + interest in seeing their school play GSU. That third one is why I think its only a couple of schools. 71k is a LOT of seats and we are not an ACC/SEC opponent.
