Big East Schools (and possble schools) by Endowment Size
Here's another list of Big East Schools.

Endowments are important to schools wanting to maintain a full portfolio of sports and stay competitive in Division I athletics. Most of the Big East schools look healthy from an endowment perspective. I'm surprised that UCONN's endowment isn't larger.

In terms of expansion candidates, ECU and Central Florida have shockingly low endowments. And Memphis has a long way to go. How much these numbers factor into their futures as Big East members remains to be seen.

Actually, I don't think P&G is the number 1 contributer. I'd bet Carl Lindner (and his companies) have given more money than P&G.

What do you mean? With all the shots the players on this team has taken from the administration to injuries, you can't expect any more than what they have done. This is the end, the next coach will have to rebuild from scratch. UC is done.

The clock has struck Midnight for the Cats this year.....they were on borrowed time anyway....

The school needs to take some of their billion dollar endowment and buy a real coach....and some players ;-)

That would be illegal, from my understanding. The endowment must only be used for scholarships.

Has illegalities ever stopped universities from exercising the right to spend monies however they please? This type of behavior has gotten too many universities in trouble. All you have to do is check out the number of schools that are currently, or previously, under probation for such activities.

Actually the next couple games will determine UC's season home with USF road with WVU and home with Ul win 2 of 3 and we are in the hunt. Our RPI before todays game was 18 and a loss to a top 20 team should not hurt much. The problem is do we have anything left in us? UC is so lucky to have invested wisley in the past as that endowment as paid major dividends in the total rebirth of this beautiful campus and all the building in Uptown in the surrounding areas. The no interest loans to developement companies was a godsend. Lets get that no interest loan to Athletics that Bob Goin was promised and get it to that projexted 37 million range NOW!
