For Tigershark's benefit, Memphis has about 20,500 and was founded in 1912.

Metro not Metro Conference schools usually do have large enrollments.
Most have decent size night schools as well. Some folks have to work their way through college.

At Uc about 4000 live on campus and about 15,000 within a mile radius.
The goal is to be at 6000 on campus by 2007 or 2008.

UofL's on campus dorms or the ULP residents have increased dramatically over the last 5-6 years. Also a good number of students get apartments in nearby Old Louisville as well.

Georgetown is 80% on campus, 20% studying abroad. No commuters.

West Virginia became a state in 1863, so WVU was established two years after the Civil War was over.
