They just got done kicking the crap out of West Virginia, have a nice win over Illinois, and beat up on the two bottom feeders (Nebraska, Penn State) in the Big Ten. They aren't a tourney team, but they aren't a "bad Big Ten" team either. RPI doesn't always tell the whole story either. Purdue started the season terribly and have gotten much better.
Not that any of this matters. We both beat BCS teams, who cares which one is better?
Where will they finish in conference? I would argue bottom 4 of the Big Ten.

RE: Official WMU Gamethread
Is that so terrible, when the 8 teams above them are probably going to the tournament?
Honestly, I think they're better than Iowa, and maybe even Illinois, who has faded. They could finish as high as 6th, IMO. We caught them at the right time, when they were still inexperienced and DJ Byrd was in a shooting funk. They'd probably kill us if we played them now. They are a talented team with a great coach, and it's starting to gel for them.

i don't think they are better than Iowa or Illinois. Coukdnt be proven wrong in the end.
Hey south Florida will prolly end up in the bottom 4-5 of the BE.

South Florida will battle DePaul for the last spot in the Big East. Purdue will battle for a spot somewhere in the middle of the pack. With a good win somewhere down the road and a decen showing in a tourney they will be on a bubble. South Florida will end it's season with a first round loss in the Big East tournament. Your only valuable argument is the dumb RPI. South Florida would have a hard time beating the worst team in the Big Ten.

I don't know what's wrong with USF this year...these are a lot of the same guys who won 2 NCAA tourney games last season. They look terrible though. It's a shame, because I want Stan Heath to do well.

Sadly the dumb RPI is all we have since the rest of your argument is speculation.

I think I understand the love/hate relationship with WMU and EMU fans about our sport teams, but from looking at some of the comments/posting/writing/comments tones that I've seen, to me it seem to sometime be a llittle personal attack .. Am I reading too much into this?
I know I am one to so kid too much sometimes and pushes the kidding to the limit at times but there seems to be a undercurrent that's laying there with some posting... Lets be repectful...
At least until the football season starts....

Give me a break.
There hasn't been any "heat" in two days. All you are doing at this point is adding divisiveness.
Why do you have to grandstand everything? Do you feel compelled to start every thread of relevance on the board? Do you really need the attention?
If you are going to grandstand, at least do it correctly: We are playing WMU tonight, not Miami.

Of course it gets heated! WMU is a rival and some punks! Should we talk in English long-jaw accents so as not to get heated and say "I do say, the Broncos of Western Michigan are a loathsome bunch with a basketball club that is as grotesque as the Earl of Sandwich's fourth wife! She being of course the Dutches of York's first cousin twice removed mind you."

"I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries. Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!"

I was addressing Steve, Pudge.
Do we need two WMU game threads? Really?
