Yep got three student tickets for the 228 sections. Guy handing them out said they had given out 1200 student armbands last night.

Yep. A win tonight probably makes scores of new fans. But, as usual, we sh** ourselves.

What time are they letting folks enter the arena tonight?

How is this done at the last minute? Was the Athletic Department holding out on selling tickets to this additional section? I know that student seating is general admission but if the rest of the seating is reserved then how do you open up another entire section?

Don't get me wrong. I'm glad the students are showing interest and hopefully we're closer to a sellout. I just don't understand the logistics of being able to open up an entire section that was previously planned for general admission.

I'm guessing these were the last tickets that were to be sold.

They saw the great turnout for the students & decided to reward the students by giving more tickets out.

Gust guessing but since they are asking them to physically come to the ticket office I bet they are handing out individual seats and printing student ticket on it since they have the capability of printing on the spot.

Would rather those seats go to students who are more likely to passionately support UAB than see them going to Memphis fans or just the general walk-up person who really doesn't care about UAB.

I agree. I just don't understand how they can do it at the 12th hour. Oh well, no worries.

Scattered singles are always a tough sell. Opening them up as student overflow would be smart if that is what they were doing.

They opened up more than 1 section to students. There are a lot of questions I have over this move, but won't ask. Me thinks maybe ticket sales weren't as advertised.

Well, they said a day before the game that there were between 1000 & 1500 tickets left.

I think this was the case.

500 or so were sold before the game, several more were given to the students.

I don't see anything wrong with that.

The crowd was good, the effort was there, the shots weren't.

Ahhh a mystery! Perhaps a conspiracy! Widespread corruption in the athletic ticket office. This mybe only the tip of the iceberg. Perhaps something as serious as attendance numbers not being correctly reported. We are on to something that could shake the foundations of the entire athletic department, nay, the entire school.
