Why does it make sense to add Georgia Southern if you add App State?

I don't understand that logic.

I am not keen on Sam Houston making the jump just because I think they have some work to do to prepare. I also know that it could be solved with an infusion of money, but I still dislike the idea of rushing it.

Yeah, only bringing 3K to a National Championship game 2 hours from your home is BS

Z

sure add a couple more no-name regional schools and see how fast stAte and Ulaf leave..then the sb would be the top fcs conference..

See how fast they leave to where? You must be saying they would go independent as they would leave to CUSA whether or not no-name regional schools are invited.

It really doesn't matter who gets added at this point. EVERY school is looking to leave. Short of adding... Alabama, Miami, etc, you can make the exact same statement but slap in ANY school and the statement would still be valid.

It's just the nature of college football these days.

Sun Belt has no ability to pull teams from existing FBS conferences. Ergo, the options are FBS independents (and I'm not talking Notre Dame), or FCS schools.

Looks like the results of this poll are the same as the others. Ga Southern and App State tied at 35% and NMSU a distant 3rd at 11%.

GaSo fans need to get busy; right now NMSU and Sam Houston have more votes for 2nd and 3rd place. This way people don't have to write so much about it.

1) Appalachian State with almost 50% of the total votes
2) NMSU with about 20% of votes
3) Sam Houston State with a little over 10% of the total vote.
4) Georgia Southern with less than 10% of the total vote.

No poll is fair without the none of the above vote.

That by the way is my vote.

That option would be labeled as "suicide". Refusing to add which results in the death of the conference. Sounds like a well thought out, rational decision you have come to. Any other advice you have? Think I should tell my boss what I really think about him?

Not suicide we still got eight. When UL gets out you can have fifty for all I care, til then no FCS, get yourself up to FBS ON your own.

RE: Sun Belt Poll
What makes you think the Cajuns will be one of the first to leave I believe the number will be a lot lower than eight if and when the Cajuns leave.

If you get below 8 and it will take FCS schools two years to transition FBS then the SB is in a terrible position. CUSA could really put the nail in the coffin if they wanted at that point. One piece of advice. Never give your enemies an open invitation to have their way with you or you are essentially handing the keys over to them. You have to be one step ahead of them and always position yourself to have alternatives. CUSA may decide to levy a $100k travel tax on every Sun Belt team by forcing you to take Idaho and NMSU.

But on here message board bravado feels go, so I think I will join in too.

"To hell with FCS. Not ever, never, no matter what, no way, under any circumstances"

That felt good. I understand where you are coming from now.

RE: Sun Belt Poll
I would imagine another Texas school would be ideal to have for TxState fans. I have no idea which Texas schools would best fit the SBC, but I could easily see adding one for TxState to feel a lil more comfortable.

I know that that being on a geographic island is not optimal for developing a fan base.

Problem is, there aren't any Texas schools to choose from.

The SBC can't get any established FBS schools to come on board, and the only FCS schools are nowhere near ready (Sam, SFA, Lamar). Plus, they are all Southland conference teams, which means there's even less of a chance of them moving up.
