That makes Mularkey & Van Gorder both looking for a job 1 year after they were coaching on the Falcon's team.

RE: OT: Former Falcon's Coach Mularkey gone as well
As I said prior to their leaving the Falcons, Mularkey & BVG needed to be gone in Atlanta, one way or another. They had plateaued despite our talent level increasing year by year since the beginning of the Mike Smith & Dimitroff era.

No shock here.

If you're a Falcons fan, it has been evident all year long that this Falcons team is better than years past on account of Koetter and Nolan. So, this time in the playoffs, I'm fully confident that we'll win at least a game. The Packers and Giants scared the shlt out of me in our last two playoff appearances, but I know we're going to win on Sunday. Nolan is going to have schemed up some nice surprises for Russell Wilson & Co.

My only concern about this team is the O-Line allowing pressure from the inside, particularly at the center and right guard positions. However, if McClure and Konz aren't getting rag-dolled out there, Ryan is going to light Seattle's secondary up all game. Either way, I know our defense is going to come to play and be more than good enough to win this game.

Now, a potential matchup with Green Bay in the NFCCG is concerning, though I once again have faith in Nolan. After all, he's shown what he can do against elite QBs, like Brees and the Manning brothers, this year.

The Falcons caught a big break IMO when they didn't have to play the Packers.

Now Seattle probably will be tough as well, but the Falcons may be able to outscore them.

Well, the Falcons have had the #1 seed for quite a while, and the Packers have been hovering around the #2/#3 seed for most the season as well. Therefore, the Falcons were never realistically going to play Green Bay in their first playoff game.

Anyway, I'm not sure who I prefer to play between the 49ers and Packers, though. While the 49ers have a relatively green QB in Kaepernick, their biggest strength on offense - running the ball - is our biggest weakness on defense - stopping the run. However, it's never fun to play an elite QB, either.

I suppose I'd still prefer to play the 49ers, but both matchups are a bit scary. Either way, I have a lot more confidence in this year's team than the past couple of times we've made the playoffs, so I'd still expect a win.
