Signing Day Feb 6
Signing day is approaching quickly. How is everybody's recruiting/commitments going? I'm hoping for a strong recruiting year for the SBC.

RE: Signing Day Feb 6
Bobby Petrino's recruiting coordinator/defensive line coach Kevin Peoples resigned today after less then a month on the job to accept the same position at UAB. Not sure why quite honestly. WKU stole Brohm from UAB so I guess turnabout is fair play.
With Peoples being recruiting coordinator it will be interesting to see how Petrino moves forward and who he has fill that role.

ULM will have a small class, maybe 15 total (only had 12 seniors on last year's team). Currently with 8 commits, mostly offensive linemen. This class will be specific in what the coaches are looking for. No signing someone just to sign them.

Right now, ASU looks good for retaining almost all of our commitments under Malzahn. We've got two or three who are visiting other schools, and I think we lose them, but thats not bad at all if you look at it.

Well, I can't imagine why you would lose them. You had an excellent past two seasons and beat #25 Kent State in a Bowl Game without Malzahn.
I would figure that after your performance in the Bowl Game, Malzahn's departure would be a non-factor.

That is a stupid thought. One game doesn't show stability or the ability to do what the guy before you did. If they do lose them it is because most recruits pick their schools for a coach, therefore if that coach leaves recruits wouldn't stay because they looked good in a bowl. Now, these recruits might stay anyway but certainly not because of one game.

You have to know by now that recruits often commit to the coach and not the School. We had two or three recruits who literally said they committed here because Gus Malzahn was the coach. Unsuprisingly, those have reopened their recruitment.
We are lucky right now that Malzahn has not extended any offers to our current recruits yet.

You immediately invalidate your point by leading with your first statement.

Thanks for the response. I don't keep up much with recruitment, so I admit I'm fairly ignorant in the area. I appreciate the explanation.
