RE: Look on the bright side.
Yesterday I spotted a large, hand-made sign in a front yard. Letters painted on plywood sheets spelling out "GOBAMA."

Someone (it wasn't me!) had come by and painted out the "G."

RE: Look on the bright side.
ALL of the 20 or 30 major sports programs are at risk of being exposed because they are the ones people will care about being exposed. The other 90 programs are probably reasonably safe from even examination, let alone intense scrutiny. Keep in mind that the NCAA has to rely upon VOLUNTARY testimony since it has no subpoena power with accompanying testimony under oath. All of the exposure for Albert Means and Cam Newton and others was from unhappy coconspirators who were left out of any payoff and called the NCAA on their own.

Someone has to care enough about their record to be tempted to break the rules to improve it, and usually a coach or two must be cooperative in the process (no pun intended) for it to be carried out. When coaches like the ones in the elite 20 or 30 can use million dollar recruiting budgets to lure the best players to their school, it is less tempting to break rules to get only marginally better results by means that are against the rules. It will be instructive to see on Feb. 6th, how many of the "TOP 200" recruits sign with the TOP 20 or 30 schools. [That is why I always am surprised when one of these school's coaches swaps about 20 "First round draft (recruiting) choices" for only one or two in the NFL draft. Of course, they don't ALL make $5 to 6 million per year from their schools]

All is quiet here in Uganda, good time to come visit. My wife and daughter are in Alabama at the moment. My daughter was not planning on coming back to Uganda as she is getting ready to start college in the Fall and wanted get re-acclimated, i.e. eat fast food and shop, before starting. Due to the endless RTRing she has decided to come back with my wife in February. At least I get some benefit from it all and nobody here knows and cares Alabama football but they do know UAB medicine and public health.
