Remember when UL, USA, UNO, WKU, and some of the others had decent to great seasons? I know everyone's focusing on football because that's where the money is but man I miss great conference basketball games.

No. When was that, 1993?
When is the last time the Sun Belt had 4 teams in post season(NCAA or NIT)? Has it happened since the American South did it in a 7 team league?

You are correct, it's been forever and a day since we had 4 teams in post season...I was merely talking about years in which we had a couple teams cracking the Top 25 or nearly cracking it in a single season.....The year USA and WKU (2008?) both were around top 50 rpi and in the NCAA was awesome.

We'll I'm ready for Brady to start doing his part to help get the Sun Belt back there. It's a whole lot more fun having three or four top 100 teams than a bunch of teams between 150 and 200 and one good one.

I truthfully think the league is better than it was last season. WKU, MTSU, and ASU all had pretty strong nonconference records this year. MTSU has two victories over SEC teams as well.
Its nothing near how good the league was several years ago, but I dont think we are guaranteed a play in game berth this year.

Yes that is true, should have said started last season and carried into this season as well....Both seasons have been equally bad...The two victories over SEC teams are nothing to brag about...Vandy is absolutely horrible and lost about 99% of their players from last season...I too miss the days of being a legitimate basketball conference....Its been awhile since conference has had multiple bids, but its a lot farther away from that now than it was even back a few seasons ago...As WKU proved last season, does not really matter too much what you do Jan-Feb. as long as you can win SBC tournament in March...I think this season is a toss up and whoever wins tournament looks like best you could hope for would be around a 15th seed which is sad and I would say a Sun Belt team could end up in the play in game again becuase I am not sure their is one outstanding team who will run through the tournament and win with a respectable record

Ole Miss is currently 10-2; we'll have to wait and see how they fare in conference play before we determine if it's a good/bad win.

Yes, but we fired Jessie Evans and hired Robert Lee, thus killing UL basketball for 7 seasons. We then go out and hire Bob Marlin, pay him all kinds of money to run a system that people in Lafayette do not want to see. We have a long road ahead of us to ever get back to where we were in the 90's and early 00's.

Forgot to add UALR to that list, beat at least two more name teams in non-con than ASU, whose best win appears to be against St. Bonaventure.

In fairness though, we sucked against South Carolina and Cincy.

You guys have been so up and down its hard to figure out. You play great to beat an SMU or Tulsa, then turn around put up a stinker against a very weak South Carolina team. I would probably put up up there though now that I think about it.
