+1.

BG really needs an upgrade at QB.

Wasn't he third team All-MAC last year? Maybe the line or new receivers are the issue.

It's probably unfair of me to judge Schilz as little as I've seen him play, but he was bad today.

Its OK, I'm just excited that he returns next year.

RE: Military Bowl
The lack of receivers certainly hurt him...but his happy feet and inability to hit open receivers with consistency are his biggest issues. He definitely regressed from last year. The OL wasn't the problem.

Sadly, I don't think we'll see a change next year.

Now we know how official 'attendance' is calculated. 03-idea

Each school probably was given say 8K tickets to sell or eat and simply count those tickets as 'sold' tickets.

I'd guess the total actual attendance, including bands, was less than 5K.

For those who may care, today's weather in D.C. won't remind anyone of Miami but it is in the 40s and no wind and no precept.

So Wednesday it was in the 30s, windy and raining and downright miserable, Doesn't get much worse than that. I didn't even leave the house to drive to the gym...

Yesterday would have been okay without the strong winds.

Today would have been a typical WASHINGTON late December day. Not Floirida but not Mt. Pleasant either.

RE: Military Bowl
Schilz was poor. BGSU's D was there for the game, their O struggled. I was hoping in the later 3rd Q that they would be able to hold and start getting the O going consistently, but they couldn't do it. Sigh.

Hopefully Ohio can not implode in the 2nd half, and win it out!

I hope Schilz gets some competition at the position next year. Maddeningly inconsistent.

I think I disagree. I thought the two teams played very evenly. Sure SJSU's QB was better. They were faster overall.

BG had more power, their defensive front was better and their ST were better (in particular returns).

Where BG fell down IMO was the offensive play calling. They really didn't mix it up well. Last posession of first half was prime example. 2nd and 2, and they run yet again. Perfect time to call the short hitters that Schilz was completing and move the chains. Even if incomplete, you have another down.

Also could consider long ball. The 3 times they did that (once on 3rd down 03-banghead) really weren't opportune times, or they didn't stretch the defense.

Lots of complaints about Schilz at the game, but I think it was more the play calling than him. (Although funny enough last year when I voiced displeasure at his play, I was scolded on how wrong I was about him. Huh.)

I was disappointed, b/c BG blew lots of chances in first half to build a lead. But congrats to SJSU for staying with it for 60 minutes.

RE: Military Bowl
BG's D was incredible. Until the last two minutes they'd held SJSU to –31 yards rushing. Can't complain about much except the result. On TV they were saying BG coaches were going to try to milk the 3-pt 3rd quarter lead, which seemed absurd to me, but damned if they didn't start just running it trying to kill clock. So yeah, a little more imagination in the play calling. Ah well.
