RE: HUD?
I would be surprised to see Hudspeth land anywhere outside of the state of Miss, if he leaves ULL

The administration seems to finally be moving forward with facility improvements after dragging their feet for two years. Also if we win our bowl game, he will more than likely receive a substantial raise that gets his base salary over 800K, or at least more than what La Tech will pay their HC.

You should never be shocked about anything coaches do.

The Russo guy at coaching search.com is no novice. He grew up with the Mannings in New Orleans, coached at Ole Miss and several other schools. He is very knowledgable and says he may not be first but wants to always be right. He must have some very solid information about this possibility.

This hire would counter what the athletic director and Hud said they were looking for in their next moves. I would not be shocked, but clearly disappointed

If he does bolt I will only be pissed at the fact that it is late in the game to go. AKA WKU has beat us to who I would have like to see hired...lol

I wouldn't, this will always be the risk when a BCS program comes calling. Can't blame him for moving on if he does, considering the current stance of UL's administration.

Tech is a lucrative job that I could actually see being targeted, but I don't believe that he will take the first offer out of town just because it's there. Yes, we know what happened with Cristobal at FIU, but UL is a very different situation, we just had Bustle here for a decade with no bowl games, and he finished with a winning record 1 time. Our administration has proven, that if for nothing else, they will not fire you for performance unless it's bad and it's prolonged. because of that, Hud has nothing to worry about because he will continue to win here. He has a gigantic ceiling and he knows as he keeps winning and his stock keeps going up, his next pay day just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

Would he take the Texas Tech job? Possibly, but I think he's really dead set on being Dan Mullens replacement in MSU should that day come. Even if he did take the job, you will be hard pressed to find anyone who is happier for him than a cajun fan.

That legend has grown on both UL Boards. Hudspeth has never stated that he wanted only the Miss State job, but that he wants to coach in the SEC on his next stop. Heard that from his mouth. Right now, according to Miss State people in the know, Hudspeth would be #3 on the list behind Diaz and one other.
