We found a cheap way to make money. If he wins and leaves after 1 year...great. You can guarantee any contract will have a multimillion dollar buyout clause. Sure...schools could afford that, but thats 2 million plus to the Red Wolf Club that could be used to help the athletic program

When you have a 13 million dollar budget, thats a lot of cash.

He'd have a hell of a buyout. We've already had Freeze and Malzahn coach for free...we would actually make money off Petrino.

Provided someone would hire him after one year.

No doubt it's a great way to build some cash, but at what point does a constant coach turnover take affect on the program? I would suspect that Petrino would be pretty careful on what the buyout actually is; which might be what holds up a deal.

You would try to have a hell of a buyout ... While Petrino is dumb, his agent is not.

Petrino has zero leverage. Nobody is hiring him. Not even Tennessee. Not even Kentucky. Nobody.

If he wanted to coach at ASU he would have a hell of a buyout. End of story.

End of story, just like how Gus was going to be there for years and build a dynasty right?

It's just a matter of time before he gets another gig, his contract will of course have a buyout, but it will be standard.

His brother Paul Petrino interviewed with WKU when we hired Willie. We didnt pay enough back then. I'm sure he gave hin the scoop if he was interested.

Well since WKU and stAte are both courting Petrino, the loser should take Mario Cristobol. FIU was stupid as hell to fire him, and deserve to see him hired by another SBC program and find quick success. Hell if Troy didn't have the Almighty Larry, I'd want Cristrobol.
