MyBB The Next Big Thing
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/wr...hts/1.html

"The details aren't finalized, but here it is: Next year on Veterans Day weekend, there will be four -- count 'em, four -- games taking place simultaneously at Cowboys Stadium, site of the 2014 Final Four. The games will begin 15 minutes apart and be held side by side (by side by side) in the giant facility. The purpose is to simulate the madness that takes place during the first week of the NCAA tournament. Only instead of the games taking place in four different cities, they'll be played in one town, under one roof."

A stupid one at that. It's more like the concept of Ringling Bros.' 3-ring circus.

Stupid? Hmmm.....How'd that 3-ring circus concept thingy turn out for Mr. Ringling?

And Cowboys owner Jerry Jones lives that PT Barnum quote "I don't care what you say about me, just as long as you spell my name right".

Watching hoops in that huge arena is going to be horrible, even without trying to keep up with multiple courts, including the one that is two courts over from your best sight line. It will wind up being a stadium full of people looking up at the video screens in order to see anything.

I certainly would not pay for that.

How are they going to contain the whistle to one court? I don't have a problem with the premise, but when players stop when they hear whistles on another court it's going to be a damn shame.

Stupid gimmick just for attention. Will each game be on a different ESPN network?

It will be just like a little league game. One game will have to stop when someone throws the ball out of bounds onto someone else's court.

They put down 3 or 4 courts in the VBC South hall For a Thanksgiving Weekend Basketball tournament. IIRC only 2 games at a time would take place, with the open courts being used for warm ups and the staggered start times meant constant action.

I know that many may not agree with me but I think this would have been awesome. I love basketball and the thought of that much basketball at once was great!

You would only be able to see one game at a time, though. They wanted ESPN to devote four channels to the games.
