On a serious note, the sun belt office knew very early on that the belt would have 4-5 teams bowl eligible at the end of the season. Why didn't bowl negotiations start early? Why wasn't contingencies put in place? Why on selection Sunday presidents have to be voting on which fanbase to disappoint?

Y'all wrote us off from last year, so I don't include us in any sun belt kum-bi-ya moments. But are you telling me that it is ok and good for conference unity to do a straw poll to decide a bowl slot?
Are you telling me that it is ok for the conference champion to be the last team to find a bowl slot?
Don't get me wrong, I love a good surprise as much as anyone else but the champion deserves more that just "we'll find a bowl for ya!".
And with Benson's years in the business he should be able to start early dialog with bowls based on his expectations of eligible teams for the conference.

THAT SAID, my personal standpoint is that all bowl eligible teams should be in a bowl. MTSU deserves it, WKU deserves it. Though, again, if I were the SBC, why should I help someone who just turned their back on the conference? Loyalty should be rewarded. The SBC's gotta look out for their own, and right now that's WKU. And if the SBC picks MTSU, and I'm WKU, I'd be looking to leave because WKU would be out, again.
