Battle for the Bones vs. MTSU?
Should we make the Battle for the Bones rivalry against MTSU now? Memphis probably will not be on the schedule for football or basketball in many of the future years. Thoughts?

No for the following reasons

1. Murfreesboro is not known for BBQ.
2. Rivalries shouldn't be manufactured.
3. If you haven't noticed, we don't have the Bones trophy

No.

We should play Southern Miss with the original CUSA charter as the trophy, seeing how we're the only two left.

Tommy West should be forced to walk the charter from one campus to the other every year. Each walk will take him longer than he spent at either school to earn his 200K or whatever we each threw down that well of failure.

One year after the "expected" final game of the series has been played, the bones trophy should go to the team that has the lead in the series.

Here's the problem: we will have two conference mates 3 hours away in the new configuration, but one of them must play in the west. Since there is no prior history with MT, and USM is the only other original member, I think it's important to keep that game as an every year thing.

Mythical mascot challenge. Pegasus vs. Dragon. They both fly but ours breathes fires.

IMHO I think CUSA should do what the $EC did and maintain the East Division rivalries (UAB and Marshall) and keep USM in the East. Put MTSU in the west as Missouri in the $EC East. I don't like the idea of losing USM as a divisional game. I would like to have MTSU every year as well but I don't know who else we could shift over to the west.

That is, of course, if things stay the way they are now.

It would however, potentially lead to a championship game between the 2 teams.

I'm actually kinda glad that trophy is gone. That thing is heinous. I like the Boobie Bungalow idea.

Good BBQ in Tennessee is limited to Memphis. Yes there are a couple of good BBQ places in Nashville but they are limited. I would rank my first 2 as Jacks (on Broadway), and Jim and Nick's... Oh wait that is a Birmingham establishment.

By the way, Memphis announces their OOC for the next few years. Pretty impressive, especially 2017. No room for UAB.
