Will miss the Sun Belt
Not always happy with the Sun Belt, but it's been a great conference home, and I think no one can say Middle Tennessee has not been a good conference member.

We're throwing you the first of several going away parties in Jonesboro. I hope you are there to see it.

Looking forward to it, this season(since McNeese) has been a pleasant surprise and beating you guys would be a surprise as well. I'll be content with our season even with a loss on Saturday, so as far as I'm concerned we're playing with house money.

I feel good about the team we're bringing back next year, I think our farewell tour will be more successful than either one of FIU or UNT, but then...FIU had high expectations this year as well, so...who knows?

I would imagine we keep the games with WKU in football and basketball...not sure about the rest of the Belt.

Already off to a bad start; we don't play ULM next year and we lost to them this year. We saw how FIU fared in their last season of the Sun Belt (while being preseason favorites).

I'll miss the 'Belt too. It's going to be strange playing and meeting the different fans of these new teams. Best of luck to the Sun Belt and C-USA moving forwards.

I'll always cheer for the Sun Belt. Being in C-USA won't change any of that. Good luck to you all.

I don't like this pecking order, sure would of been glad to see it change and see the SBC take from CUSA. I would of like the presidents and conference stick together... I think SBC is stronger and continue its growth. But as other Owls or MT fans said, if you don't jump, someone else will.

Not crazy about ODU or Charlotte in the sense of teams, though Charlotte will be nice to see my Owls play once again (2 hours away). Plus being the new unwanted kid on the CUSA board is kind of awkward.

I'll still be around of course (if you don't banish us so soon), but keep growing and hope we can see some of you guys real soon too!

GO OWLS
& GO SBC!!!!

This thread is kinda like when the hot chick you had for a girl friend meets a new guy and breaks up with you by saying "can we still be friends". You suck it up and say sure but in the back of your mind you want to punch her in the face and kick the new guy in the nuts.

Best of luck...blah blah blah...03-weeping

Well, at least no one will get (I mean be able) to hear it being talked about on TV during the game Saturday.

I know it had to be done, but I too will miss the Belt. We started this damn thing from scratch like many of you. It's hard to leave something you spent so much time together trying to build.

Hate to see MT go... the Battle for the Palladium was always fun to watch and was a rivalry that our players always got excited about. I just hope Troy keeps the Palladium after the next game for bragging rights.

Thanks for being good sports MT fans... good luck to your team.

That makes the next game the most important one since we've started this rivalry! I'd imagine both teams to be really pumped up for it.

This is random, but it looks like all of the remaining members of the Sun Belt (except GSU) uses some variation of the color red as their primary color.

Won't have to hear the MUTS claim about their "big" football program that averaged 17K attendance (#103).....

If WKU stays in the Belt I think this will actually help the football rivalry.

Right now we play each other too late in the season when it is colder. This game would be better early in the season when it is warmer and both fan bases are fired up about the new season.

In basketball we would likely alternate years home and home. Wouldn't be the same I don't think but still a good non conference game.

Doubt we play each other very often. To much risk of a loss for either program.
