Florida Atlantic may actually be another step closer to Big East
Thinking about a thread someone posted recently, I think it was the former head coach of the football program saying that FAU may go directly to the Big East.

Would that help the Sun Belt and MAC become more stable, and give the Big East an extremely firm anchor in Florida?

I still think it is absurd. But not as absurd as Tulane.

I had made my previous remarks thinking that the Big East still retained some sense. But after Tulane that is off the table so FAU might be a possibility. Hell, anybody could be a possibility in this madness.

Lets not get crazy here. Tulane has admittedly been bad as an athletic program for quite some time, but FAU isn't much better and Tulane has a billion dollar endowment and top of the line academics. They also aren't THAT far removed from an undefeated football season. I can see where you're coming from, but I feel confident in saying that Tulane makes more sense than FAU.

Well, Tulsa has pretty good academics, an $800 million endowment, AND are pretty good at sports AND are far enough west to help out Boise a little more.

Plus Tulane doesn't put anyone in the stands when they are winning.

So I think the Big East is crazy.

As crazy as the nBE looks, you would go from being on an island in the Sun Belt to having two instate 'rivals'. It would also give you a leg up perception wise over FIU.

That sounds mighty tempting for FAU to accept a nBE offer, if it has been offerred.
Probably is....Seems like everyone is getting an offer. I got two offers this morning and my neighbor got one.

Without a doubt we would take the nBE offer, having a leg up on FIU would be great, would put the campus in a frenzy (because, you know, we actually care). And being in the same conference as USF and UCf would be huge. Born and raised 10 minutes away from USF, I would love this to happen.

Until our new basketbal arena is built, and we renovate the baseball stadium, it's not going to happen

Fact of the matter is, I would miss you all too much.

I heard Florida Southern's flag football team got one too. Man that Lakeland market sure is something to behold!

I believe that you will probably get a couple of more by tomorrow.

Imagine Mexico City and Tokyo will have theirs also.
