Sure -- just call our SID and let him know what time you can be there

If you judge by wins and losses the last 7 years, yes.

Seriously, though, once Tulane has an OCS you will see some positive energy in the Tulane athletic program again. We'll never be Stanford but we can get 25,000 actual, flesh-and-blood people to show up for our games with an OCS and improved recruiting.

UAB was a founding member that did not have D1 football at the time

It's our TV market. To a lesser degree unrelated to athletics per say, we'll fit in. This will help our athletic fortunes. TU Athletics really needed this move. I suspect in 2014 we'll have a decent football team, that is to say our talent will be on par to compete in the BE.

I am excited with this news because it opens doors for Tulane financially and keeps us with a lot of old CUSA Metro teams. I get to see us play Boise St (where I'm from, parents season tickets) and get to see some better basketball.

That said it has been an honor and privilege wining, dining, and cussing, at some of the best fans in CFB. CUSA fans are generally more intelligent and more passionate (the right kind) than many a BCS program. I love this forum and will continue to post/check in if that's alright with yall.

I am saddened most by our loss (if this all comes to fruition) of games with Rice and USM, so hopefully they continue.

Stay drunk n merry, see ya on the field,
JD

Congratulations to Tulane. NOLA is one of my most favorite places in the world.

RE: A humble Tulane fan's response
It is amazing how far the Big East Conference has fallen, and continues to fall.
First, the BE loses it's marquee football playing schools to the ACC
Second, the BE is no longer considered one of the "big boys" and loses it's guaranteed seat at the BCS/Playoff table.
Third, to make up for #1 & #2 above, the BE invites TULANE to join the conference, the fith best FBS school in the State of Louisiana behind LSU, UL-Lafayette, La Tech and ULM. (This season Tulane lost to UL-Lafayette 41-13 and to ULM 63-10)
Fourth, TULANE promises to help the BE by insuring BE officials that once they construct their own on campus stadium, their home football attendance will jump drastically from their current actual attendance of 5,000+ to at least 10,000!!!!
The BE is certainly a conference on the rise!!!!!!! LOL!!!!

This is a pretty unusual response to a thread titled "A humble Tulane fan's response". While some folks view humility and being humble as a sign of weakness, in fact they are both signs of quiet confidence in strength and self-peace.

Congrats Tulane but I am surprised you picked over some of the other choices. The Big East needs to bring it a couple more from the MWC to go with Boise and SDSU like Fresno, UNLV or UNM

The caliber of the University, our history with the other members of the BE and our pledged commitment to athletics all played a part in this invite. TU athletics will be bolstered by joining the league. We will get better, which is something some folks will have a hard time appreciating considering our lack of success in the past.
