RE: Changes on football coaching staff?
UABSPORTS.COM has Sigler listed as the WR Coach.

If that is the case, it doesn't seem like to me that the WR position was a problem.
Not saying that there couldn't be something else going on.

Coaches

Garrick McGee - Head Coach
Jeff Brohm - Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks
Reggie Johnson - Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers
Jimmy Williams - Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Line
Anthony Blevins - Cornerbacks
Tyson Helton - Running Backs/Recruiting Coordinator
Richard Owens - Tight Ends
John Peterson - Offensive Line
Brandon Sharp - Safeties
Ron Sigler - Wide Receivers
Travis Taylor - Director of Football Operations
Mack Ingram - Director of Player Development/Recruiting
Bo Taliaferro - Assistant Director of Football Operations

Why Ron Sigler ?

I thought our receivers did as well as any other group.

Not sure where that smiley face came from. Phone typing I guess. Just wanted to clarify that I'm not happy that Sigler is losing his job.

He was at the game on Sat. I saw him walking out with the other coaches to the bus.

The only problem at WR, IMO, was depth. Second half route running was less than perfect bc of lack of depth.

I haven't heard anything about him getting fired.

Sigler of course was a former player as well as an assistant on WB's staff at Tenn Tech.

I would have thought there wouldn't be any major staff changes after this season.

WR position certainly wasn't bad enough to fire the pos. coach the mon. following the last game. If I hear different, I'll update.

& depth wouldn't be his fault.

Maybe a former Arkansas coach is available that McGee wants to snatch up.

Yeah, that could be. If that's the case, others could be in danger too

Ron did get let go. Apparently, he was the only one. I don't understand why, but I can only guess that McGee and Ron weren't on the same page somehow.

Ron is a great guy, and I'm sure he'll land on his feet somewhere. It seems like he did a good job with our WRs, but McGee made the call for whatever reason. I know Ron must be hurting right now because he is a true Blazer (former player here).

Good luck at the next stop, Ron!

Coaching is a tough business.

That is the nature of the business.

Sucks sometimes for those who you want to see retained.

I hate to hear it about Sigler. I hope he finds a good job. I suspect that it wasn't performance related so much as that someone on the Arkansas staff is now available.

Really....

(finna rant real quick)
But who's idea was it to keep AB in to get pounded? I would've loved to get to at least 6-6 and it was there.
(rant done)

I hope the best for him and his family. I hope that whoever they may be making room for is worth it. Who knows? Come next year we might not even rememeber this thread if our recievers are lights out.

Good luck Mr. Sigler and good luck to whoever we are bringing in.

Wonder if CGMcG is opening a spot for Kris Cinkovich on his staff?
