This is what I like about Blazertalk, it can be low maintenace, all you have to do is pick the thread you believe covers, the most posted threads and there you are.
But, Matrix after reading your posted three needs, I still dont know what your three are.
Well while I wait for your three, here are the three I believe we need to work on.
Defensive linemen.
Linebackers and defensive backs
Offensive linemen

1. Ignore fans who believe they know what it takes to build a successful program although they have never done it.

2. Understand that no matter how well or poor your team performs UAB fans will find something to *****, whine, and complain about.

3. Stick to your plan and vision for the program because at the end of the day you will be held accountable for the results, so why not do it YOUR WAY.

I am so sure he reads BT and GAS one way or the other.

I think it is hilarious the some of y'all take other people's opinions on a FN message board so personal.

It is a forum for "discussion" not "gospel" or "100% total agreement"

LOL

I agree with the baby steps idea. I'd love to have a glorious 10-win season next year, but reality says we should expect around 6-6 or 7-5. I expect a bowl game in 2013.

1.) Attitude and Culture - I truly believe this is the most important obstacle in terms of building a successful program. This fact is true in all team based sports from youth to pro. If you believe you are champions then you play like champions.

2.) Defense - We moved the ball this year but as they say "defense wins championships". If we had a defense 1st mentality and held all teams to 28 points or less then we have 4 more wins and are bowl eligible.

3.) Recruiting - I think recruiting is always an issue to be addressed by a coach each and every year regardless if you are number one or last...

I believe coach has a handle on these three issues btw.

1) So far, neither has he.
2) Well we can cover the poor part, but it remains to be seen how fans will react to good season.
3) At the end of the day, this is a mess-age board, where most posts are shovels of mess. And if CGM spends any time getting his gameplan from a message board, our problems are deeper than we think.

btw... I think CGM will do fine, his only issue is he built expectation too high too soon. To say we will be successful 'sooner than you think' to UAB fans is a no-no. 'Sooner than we think' was yesterday and successfull is a conference championship and an at-large BCS birth.

Matrix, well thought out and definitely in agreement
Uncle Blazer also agree on the 10 yrds and other questionable calls, but I'm not a coach either and probably know less than you
