In case anybody thinks UAB is the worst team ever, they won at Southern Miss 2 weeks ago, 27-19, and beat Marshall last week at home, 38-31.

Tigers are improving by leaps and bounds lately. Rolled Tulane last week. Almost came back on Marshall from 38 down. Apparently, the light came on for our guys in the second half at Marshall.

I'm in complete shock. What a turnaround from the beginning of this season (and the last 3 years). Our new staff is doing something right.

They aren't the worst team this season. USM probably holds that title as they are 0-10 (only winless team in FBS football).

That said, Tulane and UAB are pretty bad football teams right now with a combined record of 5-16. Still, the Tigers got to start somewhere and it is going to see them beating teams by a large margin.

At the beginning of the season...the players trotted onto the field with a "I don't really want to be here' body language.
Lately there has been a eagerness to get onto the field that I have not seen in some time from our guys.

It's a great win for the program, but unfortunately it's overshadowed by the news today of Maryland headed to the Big Ten.

Yep. It's pretty exciting. First sign of real life in 3 1/2 years now. And we won in BB tonight, too.

I started to believe the night we stood jaw-to-jaw with UCF and competed physically as well as skillfully. Despite the loss, I knew we were on the right track. Our boys have played with great heart all season despite every excuse to quit - Memphis is a HUNGRY football program that still has pride.

No, no, no, no, no! If you only go by records, certainly, but look at the scores. They have lost several close games to decent teams (34-33 overtime last night at UTEP, for instance). They no doubt have serious morale issues related to the coaching change, but they were predicted to be a conference contender last summer on the basis of returning talent. I guarantee that they will come to Memphis fired up and determined. Memphis is now ranked in the middle of C-USA.

Early this season, UAB lost at Ohio State 29 - 15. They have probably the best running back in C-USA and we stuffed him all day.
