Exclamation NC State looking to hire Franklin to replace TOB?
SI's "Fan Nation" mentioned that Vanderbilt briefly posted an article (since removed) which claimed that NC State asked to speak to Coach Franklin about the NC State job.

fannation.com/truth_and_rumors: Tom O'Brien in trouble at NC State?

Can anyone confirm or deny?

They were talking about it this afternoon on the radio. I tuned in too late to hear what started the discussion. Announcers didn't think TOB was in imminent jeopardy. Also questions about whether NCS could afford him. His base is around $300k. TOBs total package is around $1.5 million.

Here is the a cap of the original Vandy article

Love or hate her, Debbie Yow is good. I find it hard to believe she would get caught like this. If she is looking, there are way ways to find out if someone is interested without officially contacting the school. Especially when you have not officially done anything about the existing coach.

I don't see how at this point NCSU can't make a move. O'Brien is Tommy Bowden without the recruiting ability. The Pack had a golden opportunity with all the problems the sheep were having and because of TOB's inability to re,ruit they pissed it away.

TOB recruits like he's still at BC, but fedora staff is really distancing themselves from state with the top instate recruits

Maybe TOB can get his whole band back together at BC?

Yeah, then he can do well and get fired to inquiring about another job. Then it will go full circle.
