How do make the box with the quote from part of another post appear in your new post?

In the upper, right-hand corner of the post you'd like to include, press the "quote" button instead of the "reply" button. Then, when you're typing your post, you can also see the quote you're including (in a separate box below) and delete/add whatever relevant part you'd like to include.

OK, while we're at it, how do you change the font or color of your text in a post or use the bold, italic, or underline features? I can never get them to work.

Use the drop-down menu above your text box to alter the look of the text in your post. The key is, you have to close your "tags" when you're done.

For example, if I want GO CARDS to be red and big. I would use the size and color drop-down menus and select "large" and "red", THEN I would type "GO CARDS". If that's all I want to be large and red, I hit the "close all tags" next to the drop down menus.

<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'><span style='color:red'>GO CARDS</span></span>

<a href='http://www.ncaabbs.com/forums/acc/invision/index.php?act=Help&CODE=01&HID=13' target='_blank'>This is explained better here - look for 2.5</a>

Then, just "preview post" before "add reply" to make sure it looks how you want it to.
