NJ Rutgers Wrote:Does anyone know if Providence will be good this year?
No, not at all. I expect that come March they will be looking back fondly at this past season when they managed to go 4-12. They lost at Wichita St. tonight but honestly it would have been an upset if they won there.
Marquette lost at Nebraska as mentioned right above, that's not horrible but it would have been a quality win.
Good News:
Syracuse gave up 61 points to Manhatten in the 2nd half alone but managed a miracle last minute comeback to tie it and won in OT. Thankfully!
WVU came from behind in the 2nd to beat St Bonnie by 5.
Nova easily took care of Budget, I mean UHaul, I mean Rider.
And then in two VERY nice results:
RU beat Temple by 14.
DePaul has shocked me, they beat a good 3-0 Creighton team by 15. The Bluejays don't have a traditional "name" but that's a quality win if they hold on.

I think the BE is down this year and added teams that are even more down. UConn and Villanova are solid. Haven't seen Louisville, but they seem solid as well. After those three its a drop to West Viginia, Pitt, Notre Dame and Georgetown. Those 4 will be bubble teams and 3 will get in. After the first 7 its gonna be Nit at best for everyone else. Depaul losing to the 10th seed of the MAC last year. UC lost to Dayton at home. Look at that schedule and 15 wins is gonna be tough for UC.

As long as BE win the national championship, everything else wont matter so much. I think both Nova and UCONN has as good a chance as anyone to win it all this year. UCONN team is for real with VERY dominant inside play. When Marcus Williams comes back, we will have one of the best PG in the country to go with our NBA interior. NOVA got awesome guards and they start 4 in the lineup. NOVA will beat a lot of teams if they can make their outside shots. Both NOVA and UCONN play excellent defense. I think those two will probably carry the BE this year.

UCONN, NOVA and UL will have to carry the BE basketball banner for now. I know we Huskies expect nothing less than a final four and a national championship this year. This is no reason why not cause top to bottom we have the most talented team in the nation. We won a tough, tough MAUI tournament against top competition without our starting PG. Our freshman PGs are playing well and we play 10 deep, literally. Hopefully, teams like GTOWN, WVU and CUSE will play better come March time.
Husky I appreciate the love but I wouldn't really count on us early, because we are play 7 new guys and they are not getting it defensively right now. I don't see how any UofL fan can talk about other teams playing poorly, as of right now we would lose to ALOT OF TEAMS. We are ranked high because of our season last year. We will be very good by january, but I wouldn't expect any fireworks right now from UofL. WE have guys injured or coming off injuries and we have 7 new freshman who still don't understand how to block out and play defense. Don't let our record fool you, I'm just being honest because right now we are not that good. We have potential to be very good, but I wouldn't look for UofL to be carrying any banners until atleast february. We will take are lumps early but we should be ok by feb. Right now its just way to early, especially with alot of teams being dominated by freshman and sophmores, this is just what college basketball is today. AS of right now UCONN and NOVA are looking like the banner carriers. I still think come conference play teams will be playing much better. Alot of the mid-major schools are veteran teams and can play. I wouldn't be to upset about losing to schools from lower conferences because fo the parity in college basketball now. Most of those mid-major teams are full of juniors and seniors.

Glad you have such high expectations.
They play in the best basketball conference in America. I'm guessing that Central Florida is going to be in the same situation in C-USA. You're not in the Atlantic Sun anymore.
