MAC #4 in CBS Sports Poll
MAC up to #4 in the weekly CBS Conference Poll this week.
Goes ahead of the Big10. Wow.
Sun Belt moved up one spot.

RE: MAC #4 in CBS Sports Poll
That's what two divisions and minimal conference parity will do for you. Their top half is way better than their bottom half. They've picked up some good BCS wins and boom you've got a hell of a year.

Some of our success in getting more teams eligible this year has to do with the fact that everyone doesn't have to play everyone, and we've got three teams that are clearly at the bottom of the conference.

Still a good year for the Sun Belt. CUSA, not so much.
MAC does have a large advantage with so many teams. They are able to get some easier games to play against a close top conference also compared to all the SEC games that Sun Belt teams play due to proximity.

No one pays any attention to the CBS Sports Poll....unless it's your school or conference being ranked

Would that be a reason for the SBC to move to 12 ?

I would really like to see the SBC go to 12. But it definitly needs to be the right 2, not 2 more teams with no history, no support and located in a big city they will never carry.

Talk about some bull. MAC is NOT better than the Big 10. Do they really think any team in the MAC is better than Nebraska or Ohio State??

You're in, we are stuck with you, but that doesn't mean we have to have another one like you. No reason to make that mistake twice.

Well I agree usajags. That's why I am glad we have a school like you guys with 100 years of football history and draws over 25k in a small town where everyone isnt a SEC fan...

RE: MAC #4 in CBS Sports Poll
I think 12 is eventually the right idea, but I think it's smart to wait a few years. If we can get four bowls and a better TV contract without 2 more, then I say no. We've had 4-3-4-(4 to 6) eligible teams from 2009 to 2012. It's time we find the two extra bowls. We can lock in up to four primary agreements now. That should be priority, not two extra teams to share with and a championship game to potentially screw our best team out of a shot at the seventh "BCS" bowl.

I think that is basically what Benson said
