RE: Predictions for MBB opening weekend
The most interesting match-up is probably between North Texas and Creighton.

Looks like there are a lot of tough games for Sun Belt teams this week.

RE: Predictions for MBB opening weekend
I have no prediction on our game, I just hope our team has gelled. There are a few new pieces here and there and the JUCO center who will start is an unknown at this point, other than the fact that he's a big body we don't know too much about him. I just hope UNT/MT/WKU/USA all make enough noise to warrant postseason play, all schools are capable of it this year.

Florida State is actually ranked as well (25 in AP, 24 in coaches), so that would be a good win for USA if USA could pull it out.

RE: Predictions for MBB opening weekend
we play usm.

they replaced one creepy guy....larry eustachy with donnie 'not so clean' tyndall.

'not so clean' tyndall was a snake in the grass at morehead state. (here in the commonwealth)

they were good last year but i don't know a lot about them this year. i know that 'not so clean' tyndall is pushing really hard for a sellout saturday against us. i'm sure their fans would love some payback for the football game.

can anyone guess who donnie 'not so clean' tyndall's mentor is?

RE: Predictions for MBB opening weekend
Clem Haskins ?

Western Kentucky's placement in the tournament was vacated, due to an NCAA investigation that showed Jim McDaniels had signed a professional contract and accepted money during the 1970-71 season. Western Kentucky would be found in violation twice more in the next 10 years, earning the school a "lack of institutional control" violation.[2]

Predictions for MBB opening weekend
I would love to see the nt vs cu game. Cu is well coached and hard to beat at home. Nt has a new coach, new system and players trying to learn both of them. Cu by a lot at the end the day but i hope nt can win off of the puncher chance.

I suspect that this will be a tough weekend for the Belt.

Friday:
Quote:UNT@#16Creighton
North Texas is still pretty young and has a new coach. I would love for them to win this one but I suspect it will take a few games for them to really gel. And Creighton is very VERY tough place to play. I pick Creighton.
Quote:USA@Florida State
South Alabama has a shot. Go get 'em. But I'm going with State.
Quote:Miss State@Troy
Mississippi State. Even at Troy.
Quote:Tenn-Martin@ULAR
This will be a tough weekend indeed if UALR drops this one. UALR.
Quote:Alabama State@Middle
MTSU, easily.

Saturday:
Quote:State@Dayton
In Jonesboro I would pick stAte, but Dayton is one of those snake pit places to play and they have a lot of upperclassmen on this team. I would consider this one a toss up with a slight advantage to Dayton due to home court.
Quote:WKU@Southern Miss
As much as I would like to predict a win, Southern Miss figures to be pretty good and are close to selling the game out. I think this game will be a blast to watch, but I have my doubts that we will pull out the win.

Sunday:
Quote:FAU@#11UNC
Moving on.
Quote:FIU@Boston College
Little Ricky may end up being a great hire for FIU but he has some work to do. BC wins.
Quote:ULM@Oklahoma
Oklahoma.
Quote:Oakland@ULL
In a normal year this would be an easy call for ULL. Don't know much about Oakland but Louisiana figures to be down this year. Hope they can win this one at home.

UNC will win by atleast 30. Gonna be hard to replace 4 NBA Lottery Draft Picks. I will be surprised if UNC wins 20 games this season... I just hope 2 of those are against Duke !!!!

I heard someone say that UNC would be rebuilding this year, that's why it surprised me to see them ranked #11 nationally

Yes they are rebuilding this year. I am surprised as well to see them ranked period. But we had a good recruiting class come in. Although I am gonna miss seeing Harrison Barnes,Kendall Marshall,John Henson playing there. All 3 of them were under classmen. Tyler Zeller was a senior. I still have nightmares of that damn shot by Austin Rivers at the buzzer to beat us @ home.

RE: Predictions for MBB opening weekend
Friday:
UNT @ #16 Creighton - UNT won't be able to stop Creighton, especially at home.
USA @ Florida State - FSU is going to be pretty good this year.
Miss State @ Troy - MSU hasn't been impressive lately.
Tenn-Martin @ UALR - UTM isn't very good competition.
Alabama State @ Middle - MTSU wins big in front of large home crowd.

Saturday:
State @ Dayton - Dayton very good A10 team.
WKU @ Southern Miss - WKU pulls out the nail-biter.

Sunday:
FAU @ #11 UNC - UNC will be quite good this year. Upset possible?
FIU @ Boston College - BC another ACC mid-level team, FIU stinks.
ULM @ Oklahoma - ULM is still bad. Could have a chance, if they weren't horrible.
Oakland @ ULL - ULL should win at home, but Oakland is tough competition.
